FI has posted the interview in english aswell and looks like it could be twisted to make some headlines, but i’d rather trust this translation which tbh sounds like nothing out of the ordinary...

“I won’t make any promises, especially since it’s not just down to me,” Dybala told France Football. “At this moment though I’m not saying: 'this is my last year, I’m going’. I think about the present and all there is to win.
The club suggested I play in the number 10, it’s an honour. In modern football we don’t know what the future will be, we had striking examples of that this summer.”

How does Dybala have little to show for?

24 years old and praised to be one of the best of his generation. Will probably not even reach 100 goals before 25. I ask you, what does HE have to show for?

At that age the best of their generation were already beasts. And consistently world beaters.

Football is in steep decline. Take away Messi and Ronaldo who were the last two great players, that stood out by their longetivity thanks to modern pussyfootball, and what is left ?

Like really. What is left ?

Neymar barely scraped that 100 goal mark as a non CF. Thats fucking it.

Seven is right. You cant look at the past, but at today. And by todays standards, Dybala is absolutely a worldclass star.

If if you look at it that way, then sure. But it also means the talent well has dried up even more than we thought.

Dybala, a player yet to find consistency (just like Pogba), being an absolute world class star just shows how low the bar has been set in modern football

and btw Neymar had almost 150 goals by 20 years old, 3 major titles where he was the best in the tournament in all of them. He was a beast like Ronaldo 9 was at that age.

What kind of measurement is that?

If you don't have 100 goals by 25 you aren't great? someone should tell Del Piero that. Most great players don't score 100 by 25, not that its a good metric because it largely depends on the club you are at and your position. Dybala's game for us is a lot more than the goals scored.

For that matter, Dybala is at 94 goals. He will obviously reach 100 by 25. Even if you just count goals in Italy he is well on track to reach at 25.
