did any one notice how fast we are getting our targets this year, regarding the player if you like him or not.

but its kind of one week max and he is ours.
Because we have more money to operate compared to previous yrs and we're in a far better standing in terms of being an attractive destination.
This shouldnt come as a surprise.

It totally is cherry picking. I'm just trying to show that he wasn't absolutely terrible for the second half of the season. When looked at more specifically through his run of decent---very good form, it started several games into the season and ended with about 8 games left. That's all I'm trying to show... When looked at as a whole, his season should be seen as very good for a 21 year old. Not stupendous, not fantastic, not amazing... but very good. If a 26-27 year old scores 13 with 10 assists each year... he's probably a 15-20 mil player. We're paying quite a bit more for a 21 year old who has done that, because the hope is that he still has much room from improvement... That in the future he will be a 20 goal + 10-15 assist player.

I think it's a risk that we can now afford to take...
Wait, so it's cherry picking to divide his season by the halfway mark and point out the second half was a completely different story from the first half?

But picking a selection of matches that, amazingly enough, starts RIGHT as he starts performing and ends RIGHT as he stops performing and saying, "look how good he did" isn't?

Can't tell if serious... :sergio:

You "showing" where is form started and ended isn't necessary. We can all see when his run of decent games started. But, you see, that "form" is divided over the December 22nd to January 5/6 two week break. Oh my god, that's almost like a midway point! How quaint. And, what do you know, look at his performance after January 5/6th. It's almost like from the end of January until now he's scored only 4 goals. Well, unless you count his 2 during the 5-0 drubbing of Cagliari Jan 6th, then he's got 6. But hey, at least Cagliari isn't getting relegated and aren't shit. Oh wait. Hey, at least he scored tons of goals against top 6 competition. Wait, what do you mean he only scored 3 goals in 12 matches against top 6? Wait, he didn't score a single goal against Juve, Napoli, or Fiorentina? EDIT: Good thing, he scored 4 goals against the 3 clubs getting relegated. You know, more goals against the bottom 3 (4 goals) than against the entire top 6 (3 goals).

Good talk, yo.

I wasn't saying you were cherry picking... I was actually agreeing with you and saying that I was totally cherry picking. Sorry for the misunderstanding...

Ah, sorry for the confusion. Was like totally blown away but that's my bad ))))
:D No worries. I think we're pretty close on where we stand on this player. All I think that he's proven this year is that when in form he can be an excellent player... Now, whether he can consistently show that form, and do so against the cream of the crop in both Serie A and Europe, for a top team like Juventus... that's a different story. That's a total unknown.

As you say, I really do hope he succeeds here. The price is awfully steep if he doesn't.

just when i was getting more popcorn :(

on a serious note, its best to wait and judge how good Dybala is this season since he will get better service here than at Palermo as they play more defensively (5-3-1-1) and generally rely on Dybala/Vasquez for anything attack wise..

this has been more or less the case the last 2 seasons at least. We bought Tevez really early, Morata deal was relatively early delayed only by Conte's unexpected departure, by the time the summer camp arrives we tend to perhaps add one or 2 smaller deals/loan signings and work on departures.

it pisses me of that berardi is rotting away, but ebola is hyped to no end
Berardi is not rotting away.

He'd rot if we took him here and only play him like we play Coman..

We could replace Llorente and Matri with Berardi and Coman, now that would be great!
