I appreciate the carefully constructed counter-point you offered.

And, if you notice, I said I hope he succeeds at Juve. I do. I pray for it. But that doesn't somehow gloss over the fact he is basically an unknown, unproven commodity that Juve is buying for 30m.
Stop saying unknown and unproven.

There's a reason Palermo paid 12 mil for him 3 years ago. And there's a reason we're paying 30+ mil for him now. He's had a very good season. He's showed promise and huge potential for years now. And this year he finally started putting it all together. He's definitely proven he can improve season by season, and it's likely that will continue.

But he is certainly not an unknown and unproven commodity. He's not well-established, and a world class player already, but you're going way too far in the opposite direction.

He's not a world class yet but he's got the talent to become one. As for the price although it's high for a player with one year remaining on his contract but thats because he was wanted by lot of clubs and i'll gladly pay the 28 mil plus the bonuses when he "explodes" here

What?

He is unknown and unproven.

He was shit two years ago. He was amazing the first half of this year. He was below average for a club's top forward the second half of this year. That is it. That is the limit of his football experience in established football. That sounds pretty unproven to me. He has proven nothing. Except that he can be hyped very easily and some people will lap that shit up. Again, I hope is truly is amazing because what a steal for us at Juve but I don't think so.

He was also fantastic as a 17 year old for Cordoba.

Stop lengthening out his slump. His good form lasted from Round 10 to Round 31. He played in 21 of those matches and had 11 goals and 8 assists. He scored or assisted in 15 of 21 games in that period and was by far Palermo's best player and one of the best players in the league through that stretch.

He's proven that he can be absolutely dominant when he's in form. SO yes, he has proven something. Now he needs to prove he can do this consistently.

You don't get a 21 year old who's proven he can dominate consistently for around 30 mil + some worthless players. Young proven, consistent players like Neymar and James go for 80 mil. If you want to spend only 30-40 mil you have to take a risk.

Biggest player we have gotten money wise in a long time. The money alone should hype him up. It will be a good rotation for him tevez and Morata. I am curious to see if he can slowly ease in to the tevez role and have little transition when tevez leaves. Morata I think comes in as the starter and should be. Dybala has plenty of time to get in the squad and prove himself
