Idk man, i feel this contract situation is more complex than people make it out to be: its not just Dybala being unreasonable its also a lack of a clear communication from our club. Negotiations have been going for what? over a year now?

if the demands from him were so insanely unreasonable this would have been solved already. He would have been sold and we would cash in long time ago as it was a hopeless case anyway.

There is something more to it for sure.
The negotiations have gone on since at least summer 2020. By end of 2020 both Dybala and Agnelli were so upset that they started a dick measuring contest in the media about the renewal.

I think this is all down to Allegri not being particularly fond of Dybala.

Before Allegri left us the last time, you could already see how Dybala was frequently being left out of the starting 11. It probably had something to do with Allegri leaving. The board wanted Sarri to get more from Dybala. Fast forward to today, things haven't quite worked out. They must be evaluating if having Dybala on 12m + bonuses is worth it. And I think Allegri would be happy to reinvent the squad without Dybala.

I love this boy just as much as the next fan. But there's no denying that if Allegri had the opportunity to choose between Dybala and Tevez, there would only one winner.
Please don't compare the man (Tevez) with this boy.

Dybala is nowhere near Tevez, he never even managed to break into the starting 11 of Argentina.

Letting Dybala go for nothing is obviously not ideal, but I’d rather let him go and get nothing in return than have another player on the roster that can’t stay fit and because of his wages would be impossible to dump.

At the same time he’s the most talented player we have in the attacking department so I get paying him too.

I guess I won’t lose sleep either way. That goes for everyone else on the roster too. I don’t care about any of these jabronis except Loca and Chiesa.

ammm didnt Allegri said that he will built his proyect around Dybala when he camebak and thats why he gave him the captain armband?

Seemms rather odd that he will built a proyect around a player that he is "not particularly fond" and even more strange to give him the captain armband

imo it's quite the opposite actually.

arrivabene said yesterday that everyone must earn his place and let's see dybala in the next few games. let's suppose that arrivabene picked his words and he really meant what he said. in that case, WAT?! next few games, that's what dybala has to prove himself? he's been at the club for 7 years, we are offering him millions of euros, and now he has a few games to prove himself? do we even know what kind of player he is? or we have no idea after 7 years? what the actual fuck, that's our strategy? that's how we expect players to be dedicated?

don't get me wrong, it's not about dybala himself. it's about the lack of clear vision. you want an important player to stay? get done with the contract. you want him to leave? stop the bullshit, and bring a replacement already. that arrivabene interview is probably the worst i've heard from any juve executive in the last 10 years. completely unacceptable, providing he knows what he's talking about. if he was drunk, then fine, that's an excuse lol

very, very hard years are coming if that's our management. prepare yourself for even worse.
I think you're going too deep into what A-bene said. I saw the interview and it's an interview like any other. Meaning, he answered the question without answering the question. Like every executive or player would do when approached by the media on an ongoing case.

The club might have been well aware of what they want to do with Dybala for a while and they just wait for him to make his move. Dybala himself might think he deserves better and he is waiting for a better offer from another club, who knows.

Speaking of getting a replacement already. Not sure what you mean here. Would you expect the club to buy somebody now, in January? I think you know it's impossible. We'll make our moves during the summer. The transfer market is influenced by plenty of actors so you just can't plan everything.

you might be right. that's why i said "let's suppose that arrivabene picked his words and he really meant what he said." if it was just a random interview then we had a good chat over nothing.
Always a pleasure :wine:

But yeah, I don't believe he meant it. He's not some random person. He's been leading Ferrari for a few years, and he's been a member of Juve board of directors before being appointed on his current role with the club. Having said that, I think he knows our situation pretty well.

In my opinion, all the possible hypothesis regarding Dybala's contract have been mentioned here several times. Only time will tell what was true and what wasn't.

Along with De Ligt and Chiesa, Dybala is arguably the most talented player in our squad.
None of us knows what's actually going on behind the scene but 3 things that Dybala should keep in mind are:
1- He is not CR7 / Messi.
2- His injury record.
3- The financial condition of the club.
I would love to keep him but how can he ask for astronomical wages in this day and time with the pandemic raging?

The pandemic situation becomes a problem for football clubs that have limited budgets, not for oil clubs and EPL clubs. Crazy money is still being thrown around and there's no stopping it unless you're an Italian club ofcourse.

He is not obligated to remain with us. He can ask for whatever he wishes. Whether or not he is worth it is a different matter but given the bad decisions we've made over the last few years, seems like every penny is important to us.

Nobody is at fault here. Both club and player are looking out for their own interests and rightfully so.

I personally don't think he's worth all this fuss but yes I do agree with some of the posters here who have voiced their skepticism over finding his replacement.

If they end up spending €40M on a mediocre player like Kean for example, I will loose total faith in this management.
