I guess we were linked to mids because of Pogba/Vidal rumours.
I bet we still sign one. And after this fiasco of CM injuries I'm OK with that.

If we go by the presumption that we will have a healthy Asamoah, and Sturaro integrated into the rotation, would there really be a need for a CM?

The reason for the lack of depth right now has nothing to do with the quality of the players already on the squad, but by the litany of injuries
WORST case scenario we have Pepe/Padoin that can play CM if we needed it for an emergency.

And because Inter were linked to Allan, so they have to bring us up again.

Loan + €18m is the fee being mentioned for him. That thread will be full of people going crazy, at that price.

It will be a joy to watch the developments with the meltdown we are having today.

He's 24 already. For this price we should go for players breaking through at a younger age. Like Dybala at 21, his price tag is sort of justified bc he's absurd mature for his age. Id gladly take Allan, he's a good player and better depth then we've signed for years (viewing Pereyra as a starter), but we can't spend €18m of our budget on a depth player.

Now, if this is a replacement.......

I'd rather have 18m rotation player than 18m starter that's for sure

allan is one of the very few midfielders who's had similar defensive record than vidal for a couple of years in a row. sure, he's not scoring goals (neither does vidal this term), but still, he could be a welcome addition to the squad. he's like nainggolan was at cagliari, without the annoying arrogance of ninja. a very reliable, relentless, hard-working player.

as for dybala: :fap:

24 is the perfect age to buy. and 24 isn't old, either. By that point he has legit league experience and we have seen enough of him to know he is worth 18m.

You're right. But I prefer players who have proven themselves a season or two at the age of say 22.
If you look to the Eresdivision, Ligue1, Bundesliga there are many players who have proven themselves at age 21-22.

Thinking this way will add to the resell value in the future. If you sign a 24 year old, have him here 3 years, he'll be 27 by the time someone comes knocking. He'll have 3-4 years top level football left.

If he's 2 years younger, 25, he'll have 5-6 years top level. So the younger he is, and proven good enough, the more money he'll sell for. As for a club like Juve who can and will hold on to star players, this means we'll either have the player for ~10 years OR we'll make €40m instead of €20-25m of a future sale, depending on when we sell/if even.

Palermo looking for Dybala replacement
By Football Italia staff

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini reveals he’s looking for a replacement for Paulo Dybala - 'it’s clear that he’ll leave’.

The striker is wanted by clubs all over Europe, with the Rosanero patron revealing this weekend he’s spoken to Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

As a result, Zamparini is planning for life after Dybala, as well as his strike partner Franco Vazquez.

“It’s clear that Paulo will leave,” the President told Sky.

“In fact, we’re looking for another striker, as we only have [Andrea] Belotti at the moment.

“The team is out of form, the midfield is less aggressive and Vazquez is out of form too.

“Next year Palermo will have to play without Vazquez and Dybala, so I’d like to see other players [come in].”

Zamparini is notorious for dispensing with Coaches, sacking an average of two per season, but has stuck with Beppe Iachini all term and the latter’s fine work has seen him linked with Sampdoria.

“He has a contract for two more years, one for next year and the option for a year after that.

“He’s definitely part of our project, I don’t worry that he’ll leave for Sampdoria, as I don’t think he’s so stupid as to work for someone like Ferrero.

“I would be mortally offended [if he did].”

I know.

If anyone argued this way only 3 years ago...

I'm truly happy how the entire league is shifting focus on rebuilding with young players, the sinking Bilan team stand as the best example

This team should never be acquiring players based upon how much we think we'll be able to sell them for later.

That is definitely not Lo Stile Juve. We are not a selling club.

Oh, and we should definitely buy Dybala. :D
