The article to me made no sense unless I read it wrong.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini wants €40m for Paulo Dybala, and warns Juventus he won’t accept any players in exchange.

The forward has been heavily linked with the Bianconeri, with speculation that the Old Lady would offer €25m plus several players for the Argentinian.

However, the Rosanero patron has poured cold water on that idea, as well as revealing he’s rejected offers of €35m from teams abroad, with Arsenal believed to be interested.

“We don’t want players in exchange, only cash,” Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“The player is worth €40m, even though there have been offers from foreign teams of €35m. We need to look after Palermo’s budget and accounts.”

The colourful owner also discussed Dybala’s strike partner Franco Vazquez, who would be available for around half the price.

“His future depends on what offers arrive. Give me €20m and he can go.

“Napoli? If [President] Aurelio [De Laurentiis] is willing to shell out €20m it can be done. Do you think I’m exaggerating?

“[Stevan] Jovetic was sold for the same amount, and to me there’s no comparison between the two.”
Let me try to find the italian one

Am I miss reading it? He says he has received offers for 35m from abroad but would take 20m from napoli for dybala?

If past is an indicator, he's indeed telling the truth. The guy is stubborn as a mule. He wants the money to go to South America and buy new Dybalas.

It really shouldn't be. I'm surprised he didn't come out and clarify his request sooner but we all know it would be coming. (I know you were being sarcastic :p)

Well, let's see if its a smokescreen to start a bidding war but I am curious to see who (if anyone) would be willing to pay 40m for a player in his last year of his contract. IF Beppe does it then it would be retarded. One year left I'm liking the 25m plus a couple players of little value or no deal at all and move onto someone else.

Or simply bring Berardi for 15m.

Yup, let pass that bullet.

What Marotta could do is to brainwash the dude and tell ohm to stay at palermo one more year :D and trola Zamp. haha, highly unlikely but would be fun.

But oh well, bring berardi and other guys then..is not worth to gamble for that dude for 40 mils. We didnt for verrati, who was 15...and yes that turned to be a mistake...but this dude is asking 40 mils. Just too much.

He just wants cash to throw €20m into balancing the books, and €20m to spend on the next Dybala, Cavani, Pastore or whoever before they get a Euro price tag.

But can you blame him?

They know their shit when it comes to finding talent and selling at huge prices.

If we had money to throw away I wouldn't mind the 40m price tag though, but we aren't that kind of club. I'd rather spend 15m to bring Berardi back, and the 30m remaining on Firmino? :boh:

I'm walking the edge of Rakiblivion, aren't I?

Zamparini knows he's not getting 40m for a player who can leave for free in a year. He's just saying it because English teams might be stupid enough (or rich enough) to pay close to that regardless of his contract situation. If this talk about Dybala only wanting Juve is true then Arsenal and Man Utd can't wait for his contract to expire, they have to outbid us and get him this summer.

How much do you guys think Vasquez is worth? Haven't seen much of him.

That's all his club is there to do, balance the books by way of turning over players. If they get a Euro run then bonus. It's the same as Udinese.

For me, this is only negotiation strategy. It's better to start with higher values and than go down, than ask for 25m and get... 18.

Dybała will be available for 25m in forthcoming summer. And it seems that we are really interested and there is very serious chance he will end up in our jersey.
