Average? Really?

This kid has a ton of technical ability, and poise on the ball. His close control is outstanding, he's got good vision and passes the ball well (tied for 2nd in the league in assists), and he has an eye for goal (12 already).

He is also a reference point for that team. His teammates look to him on the pitch to lead their offense, to lead the team. This is not your average 21 year old!

Beppe isn't going to pay 40M for him, nor do I think he should, but I would definitely be in favor of seeing Dybala at Juventus. He looks like a nice young piece to build around, I think he's going to be outstanding in a few years.

Edit: He's also a hard worker, which I love to see.

so was govinco at parma in 2010-2011 when we paid 12 m to get the other half of his contract..in that particular season govinco teared us apart when he scored a hat trick aginst us in the loss 1-4..so we ran to get him..then he turned to be a disaster as we all know..the same for the counters kid "dybala"..what am trying to say that juve is not some club that his top ambition to stay in the first divison

So who do you suggest we should buy? Aguero? Ronaldo? Messi?

Sounds like the same line used these days to dismiss every player that doesn't play for a big club.

How good of a finisher is he?
Yes, everybody keeps saying that to players from "small" clubs. They don't understand that we can't buy established players from top clubs.
He is generally a good finisher. But he did miss a sitter though, I forgot against who.

Dybala and Giovinco are definitely not the same player. There are significant differences in physicality (about 4-5 inches, 15-20lbs?), and mentality.

Also, just because he plays on a counter-attacking team doesn't mean that he won't excel in a system like Juventus'. He's definitely not shy about taking on defenders, and he's a clever passer. He seems fairly intelligent, works hard, and with his pace and direct play he'd be a really nice boost up front. I think he and Marota could be deadly together; that would be a very fluid duo up top.

Probably already posted, but:

true all that, I also think he would be a quality signing, we need more of that technical brilliance, we need more options to be feared playing 1v1, not only tevez or pogba

Zamparini: ’Juventus, hurry for Dybala’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini confirms he’s in talks with Juventus for Paulo Dybala, but says they must hurry.
The Bianconeri are believed to be the Argentinian forward’s preferred destination, though Zamparini is likely to play hardball over his €40m asking price.
“I’ve received concrete offers for Dybala,” the Rosanero patron revealed in an interview with Gr Parlamento.
“I was offered €30m by two clubs, but I said that I want €40m. I even got [an offer] for [Franco] Vazquez and Dybala together.
“Juventus? Yes, they could take him [Dybala]. I’m in contact with [Juventus general manager Giuseppe] Marotta, I know they’re interested, but they must hurry, there are other teams after him.
“After Easter I’ll meet Dybala’s agent who is working hard for the lad’s future. Will he remain in Italy? It’s 50-50 at the moment.
“Napoli? [President Aurelio] De Laurentiis wants him, but I’ve told him not to think of another deal like [Edinson] Cavani [€17m], this time he’ll have to break the bank.”

Dybala and Vazquez for 30m :beppe:

You forget Pereyra though.
But yes - a striker must be able to take on a direct opponent, i think so as well. The era of static Llorente CF's are over.

Zamp: I want €40m!
:beppe: I'll give you €30m...
Zamp: Hmm... Well I mean it's close, but I think Dybala is worth a little more...
:beppe: : No, no €30m for Dybala and Vazquez

Well, from what I understand about our finances, we are still someway off being in a position to shell out massive sums of money for players, despite the growing income from TV rights, Champions League success, sponsorship etc etc. Although, I understand we have moved back into the black after many years of indebtedness, by a fairly modest figure, there would have to be some especially shrewd negotiation with Zamparini to exact a settlement that left enough to strengthen other parts of our squad. At this point I should say that I have seen Dybala a few times this season and can amplify Rollie comments about his technical prowess, his vision and his passing ability. He is most definitely a very talented footballer and can only get better.

In order to offset the likely fee that would be realistic, doubtless our management are actively listening to potential or active offers for Fernando Llorente. Although newspaper reports in the last 14 days have referred to both interest from Tottenham and Barcelona, I would not really expect too much cash from his sale, given his age. Clearly the whole thing of making definitive moves in the transfer market still seems predicated on whether or not Pogba remains at the club. If not then Dybala is clearly available with the rest of the money being used to bring in the Pogba midfield replacement.

So, it's no use Zamparini tell Marotta to get his skates on whilst we are still unsure about our likely spending pot from any transfer sales and any further boosts to our coffers from winning the last 8 tie against Monaco. Agnelli has too much commomsense to squander the efforts over the last 6 years in restoring the financial fortunes back to profitability.

I'd be interested to know what - in pure cash terms - what would be a realistic settlement with Palermo for Dybala, Dybala & Vazquez combined, and what leverage we might have in getting part of the fee offset by including anyone ( who might be considered ) from the Juve squad as part of the deal.

oh yes, Pereyra. Do you think they are at the same level of dribbling with Dybala? I think Dybala is more agile though

Do not underestimate Pereyra. Once he got a little confidence he upped his game a lot. Dybala has incredible potential given his young age. As of right now i rate them on par in terms of technical abilities. They don't play the same roles but have many similar traits. Workrate, dribbling, pace, vision etc.
I rate Dybala the better player, yes. He's more complete. And he's 21 years old. Pereyra just turned 24.

I can hardly think of a bigger mismatch between two people sitting down to negotiate than Zampa selling and Beppe looking to buy
I think we will for sure miss on dyabala, unless something extraordinary happens. We know MArotta, he only negotiates on his terms. Most likely he will not pay 30, much less 40 mils.

We will skip in him because i think that there will come teams to match the 40 mils for sure...and zamparini will sell.

Any idea when he might be called up too the NT? Would be hard as hell to displace any of their attackers tho.

I'm having the impression that the player is actually pushing to stay in italy, but that juventus has offered significantly less then the foreign teams.
So now Zampa is using every opportunity to push Marotta into offering more.
