Huh?? Weren't you saying all season long that Morata is better than Higua? Or am I mistaken?

Obviously me being ridiculous, engaging in hyperbole about one of our young players that I loved.

I also said multiple times that I would love Higuain here and think he would be absolutely brilliant here and that the Juve mentality and way of dealing with pressure would help him a ton.

Yes it would. Very different players. Verratti is a far more physical type. And also far more of a regista.

I honestly think people here never watched Pjanic play at Roma. He rarely played as a regista. Most often played RCM, occasionally AM, rarely regista.
They both do an identical job on the ball though, holding onto it and directing the play. They'd get in each other's way imo. It's not the position I'm talking about, just redundancy of roles

Everyone is fapping to Pjanic, the same Pjanic that disappears and lacks a big game mentality. Everyone is also fapping to Higuain, the guy that chokes regularly. Pjanic and Higuain are great additions, but at the expense of Morata and Pogba, fuck no. In the long term, those two are going to be beasting. On potential alone, the players we dispensed with possess more quality overall.
When was Pogba last decisive in a cup final?

He did.

You mean he scored 36 goals because he played for Napoli and they made their entire gameplan feeding him the ball and getting him chances. There's a reason people fap over their "attractive" football. They play a very attacking style, with a very myopic focal point on one player.

This doesn't take anything away from Higuain. He had an incredible season I didn't think he was capable of. But it wasn't "despite playing at Napoli"... it was because he was made the absolute focal point of team playing all out attacking football.

Of course he is better than Morata currently. Though nowhere near as far ahead as some make him out to be. There's a reason Morata had 12 assists last year and Higuain had 2. I'd still take Morata over Higuain, because his CL prowess is just what this team needs, and Higuain has been continually terrible in the CL for his entire career. 2 goals in 20 CL knockout games speaks volumes. As does the fact Napoli has been knocked out by Bilbao, Porto, Dnipro, Villarreal during Higuain's tenure, and he's scored 1 goal in those 8 games. Napoli was favoured in all 4 of those match-ups. Higuain's inability to rise to the occasion is a major reason they lost.

Morata actually has 6 (scored 1 for Madrid).

Plus 4 assists.

So clutch!

Okay, well the difference between Pogba and Pjanic is greater than between Higua and Morata, so the overall quality has dropped there imo

Disappear? Pogba is inconsistent(Though I'm sure he'll fix that in the future), and I can't recall him having a great game versus a good opponent in ChL

Morata is 23
and Pogba is 23.

While getting Higuain was good, we have to remember that Morata and Pogba would have been the long term plan that would have been the foundation and backbone of our team for years to come.
Our backline is extremely old, and even the players we added, Benatia and Alves, are old.
Short term, we should be good, but we need to have a longer way of thinking about this if we keep letting go our talented young players.

What's your point? Neither Pjanic or Higuain have been decisive in finals either. I'd expect a 28-29 year old striker who cost 90 million, and a midfielder that everyone is creaming their pants to, to be somewhat more clinical and decisive. Pogba possesses huge potential, and that is what is pissing me off.
