Like a week ago: We are not paying Higuain's clausule... for now. :D
Exactly. Marotta's statement is just another indicator that Pogba is close to leaving and that we are idotic enough to roll over and let him go. In essence we act in the money interest of Pogba/Raiola, not in the interest of Juve, if we let him go.

I don't think so. In terms of marketing he will make that kind of money for us. Both because he's that marketable of an athlete and because it will prove just how big of a club we are. People like big clubs.
I agree. No way we sell if he leaves it up to us. Which he won't anyway.

We are a big club.

At United he will earn 13m after tax plus make more money through keeping his image rights. At Juve he currently earns 4,5m after tax. Raiola would make about 20m in this deal.

The whole deal is all about money. United couldn't convince Pogba with sporting prospects, so they did with money.

I still think we need to keep him and show some strength. We are in control and just should tell Raiola that Pogba will stay no matter what, regardless of the offer, regardless on whether he wants to leave or not. Bayern (even before the Bundesliga improved) or PSG for example wouldn't sell him under any circumstance, including the circumstance that Pogba may want to leave, despite not being part of La Liga or the EPL.

I really despise our whole "we are not a selling club, but if a player ask's to leave we immediately roll over and accept his request" mentality, that would be once and for all confirmed if Pogba gets sold. It would verify that Juve indeed is a selling club and would lead to many open questions. If someone in the EPL next year offers a crazy salary to Dybala and he wants to leave as a result of it, do we just let him? Or is Pogba just an exception? And if Pogba is just an exception and we are ready to keep players against their will, why not do it in the case of Pogba - this summer - to have at least for one season possibly one of the best teams Juve ever had?

Despite all the hype the reality is that without Pogba our midfield isn't world class and the team not nearly as good as hyped up as a result of it. Yes we made fantastic signings, but - and that seems to be forgotten - we also would have lost 3 important player with Pogba, Cuadrado and Morata, so Alves, Pjanic and Higuain are just replacements of important players.
Pogba earns 4.5mil before taxes, united offers 13mil after taxes.

Alves and Higuain are miles ahead of cuadrado and morata. They are huge upgrades.

Pjanic is much more consistant then Pogba. Not nearly as complete, but similar in terms of creativity.

You just got an offer you couldn't refuse that's all. Fair enough. You're making your squad stronger overall as a result. United are doing the same. It's a win win.
That's not true. Juve is a healthy company owned by a billion-dollar conglomerate. Also Juve would keep Pogba if he wants to stay. It can be refused for other reasons as well, like that fact that Pogba's value will be over 100m for years to come, particularly considering that prices rise and rise.

If Juve sells, it's all because the management decided they don't want to keep a player who wants to leave.

i'm sure he'll choose united
If Pogba joins and Mourinho has any sense at all we would play 4-3-3, Rooney would be lucky to even play nevermind start tired of the club shoehorning him in, legend or not he drags the team down. Also you look to have finished your incoming transfers, we havent. Rumours about Fabinho from Monaco too otherwise it would be Darmian not TFM.

Carrick looked shot last season, wouldnt be able to provide the legs behind Pogba that makes him successful with you. So it should be.

Redcafe still thinks we will go bankrupt if they pull out of Pogba deal 2:

Are they trolling or just this dumb?
dumb of course.

btw i have no idea how we can pull a ~160m mercato and a bigger paycheck without any major (pogba, bonucci, dybala) sacrifices.
