That is all fine and dandy Sergio but do u see Pogba rejecting a €10m + net wage if a bigger and more prestigious club came calling ?
Not to mention he'll get far more recognition playing for Madrid or Barça instead of Juventus.

I simply won't get my hopes up.AT BEST , he might stay for an extra year but I have my doubts over that too.

Well, he wouldn't be the first player to reject it.

I don't see him as the type of person that would ask for the #10 and then leave a year later.

I've always viewed him as a young man who is wise beyond his years and humble. I could be wrong, but everything I've read about him and watched on TV gives me the impression that he has his head screwed on correctly

did Kroos get more recognition at Real or Rakitic at Barca? Debatable. But Pogba is a bigger star than both of them. I think he knows that, and he knows exactly why that is.

Pogba as our new #10. Great decision. Hopefully this signals to everyone his intentions to stay here for a long time to honor the shirt and hopefully this shows the boards intentions of trying to keep him. He asked for more responsibility and to be this clubs leader. Awesome news and I love Pogba for asking for the responsibility. I'm sure he knows what comes a long with it...

God speed Pogba

He's a foreigner not Italian.

I'd expect an Italian to do that especially if he was playing for Juventus but not a foreign player.

Absolutely no way he's rejecting a monstrous wage offer from Barça or Madrid.

Yes absolutely.

Both Kroos and Rakitic are more recognizable stars than they were before.

Are you guys forgetting that we gave Tevez the #10 and he stayed for all of two years? It doesn't mean Pogba will stay at all. A wage increase of 3m may mean more to him than a shirt number
Take out the may in the post and it's completely on point. Like Vidal, the reason he will be leaving will be salary bump, besides the glamour or the biggiest most hyped clubs /players, we can't double his salary as they can = he will leave in near future.

While that is true, I think you also have to take a look at where they were in regards to notoriety prior to them joining their respective clubs. Neither one of them were on the lips of most pundits as being one of the top 10 players in the world before joining RM and Barca respectively.

Pogba is already at that point now.

I don't have a problem with it, but it is almost like saying we won't buy a number 10 in terms of tactics.
If this number was given immediately in first day wouldn't have batted an eye (Pogba just asked now and wasn't interested before?), but the fact is Agnelli and Marotta talked up this number will be reserved for a player worthy of it, a fantasista type of champion player. Allegri talks up AM types he wants, Marotta scoures for choices, can't get any, says few days ago no such player is coming, that Pogba (and Dybala) can play Trequartista (Allegri won't play him there Imo). And now Pogba gets the nr. And you will have an in house marketing boost for sure instead of an outside one the initially sought out.

It is trivial stuff but it's hard to claim it's not related to our initial transfers priorities that failed to materialise.

Also, being 5th/6th best player at Barça or Madrid would earn him more recognition and fame than being THE STAR at Juventus.

It's sad but it's true.

He'll never win a Ballon D'or with Juventus in my opinion. This is just putting it bluntly.

And I am not going to criticize the management for not being able to keep him because I totally understand our reality.

While it's apparent some here clearly don't.

Very true.

On the other hand I'd rather see Pogba play with 10 than Götze. Even if I still want Götze to play for us.
