I don't understand why it's considered as provincial to give #10 to a player you already have. Say what you want but to me the likes of Gotze, Draxler, Isco or Oscar wouldn't be more worthy of the number than Pogba.

Pogba has grown here into a WC player. He's marketable, has fantastic technique, scores wonder goals every now and then and he attracts people to come to stadiums or turn on their TVs.

Pogba as a player is definitely worthy of the number. The problem is that this comes across as a marketing move. For some reason Pogba's popularity has skyrocketed (personally I think people underrated him before the Summer of 2014 and overrate him now) and we want to capitalise on that.

Yeah it does but you could be killing two birds with one stone here. We want to sell more shirts and Pogba #10 will definitely boost it. Since he asked for it himself he might consider staying with us for longer than we thought. Hopefully he's serious about it, we really need a player like him in our team.

At the end of the day the move makes sense in many ways I don't think we should complain. The only downside to this is probably that we're not bringing in anyone worthy of the #10 for AM spot. Some might be disappointed with it which is understandable.

I have to;d you all of a long time Pogba isn't leaving and this number 10 move just locked that down. They are building this squad around him and thats the way it's gonna be

Pogba as our new #10. Great decision. Hopefully this signals to everyone his intentions to stay here for a long time to honor the shirt and hopefully this shows the boards intentions of trying to keep him. He asked for more responsibility and to be this clubs leader. Awesome news and I love Pogba for asking for the responsibility. I'm sure he knows what comes a long with it...

God speed Pogba

I don't think that has anything to do with it I hope.

Brilliant marketing strategy IMO.

Must be the club's way of saying - sorry guys we sold vidal and there won't be any significant signings but please buy the Pogba 10 shirt instead because there are barely any marquee names worth having now

We shouldnt give a #10 shirt to a player thats leaving next summer.

So when Beppe said we want to add another midfielder to make the numbers, he wasn't lying, again.

Such a Milanesque move. :inter:
It does not disgust me, but I was about to say this is exactly the kind desperate PR move Galliani would do to appease the fans. To gently make them accept settling for less then what promised (our failure in acquiring a star AM). Saying otherwise would be interesting, since Pogba did not take the number immediately but now that are Mercato choices that could suit this number have fallen apparent, and Marotta even mentionned Pogba (and Dybala) as trequsrtista options.

it is apparent to me that this move means that any move for draxler and gotze are more or less dead in the water
