Can members here who watched Juventus in the early 90s actually comment on how Del Piero was in his teens and aearly twenties?

Did he play every game consistently awesome, or did he have bad games too?

He played consistently from the very first time he got his chance and kicked ass.

He pushed Baggio out of the starting eleven, the guy who brought Italy to the final of the WC year before, but of course he had some bad games along the way. In 96/97 he struggled with injuries before confirming his world class status a year later.

He had bad seasons later on. I was thinking like the '04-'05 season, where he was kind of a mess while the new kid in town, Zlatan, had shown every reason that DP should be benched for a strike force of Zlatan-Trezeguet (despite Moggi's suggestion that the two couldn't play together).

But by the '05-'06 season, DP's form vastly improved and Zlatan's tanked a bit.

Pogba was awful last night. He almost gave away a goal with his first touch, but he managed to do it later on.

The news about an interest from PSG and Madrid is clearly affecting his concentration.

It's impossible not to see this. Or maybe it's just a coincidence that his form and concentration dropped when all these possible mega moves started popping out in the media.

Except for his recent lack of goals, I really don't see a big difference in how he's playing.

Imo, he's always had concentration issues & made the odd mistake. There's just a bigger focus on him right now and people are (or seem) no longer willing to forgive those mistakes, unlike 6 months ago.

I agree, he had those sort of mistakes, but it was masked by goals as you say, but for me the most annyoing thing right now is that it seems his attitude has changed. He always seemed like a confident player and believed in himself(and that is a good thing) but now it's as if he's thinking better of himself then he actually is so far.

Maybe it's all the attention he gets from media and ridiculus transfer sums being thrown around, who knows, but for me he seems a bit distanced from the actual matches for Juve as if his head would be somewhere else and not 100% in the game.
