The guy is talking out his ass. Morata was the Golden Boot at both U19 and U21 European Championships. He was fantastic for Spain at those levels. Hence why Madrid gave him first team time in 21 matches last year in hopes that he could replicate that form and live up to his potential.

He just hasn't shown he can perform consistently at high level against professionals yet. Flashes, but no consistency.
Lacazette is awesome, but to clarify, Morata in both Spain youth team and Madrids one was a record breaker kinda efficient scorer. Was super deadly at that level. His hype started due to his unheard of figures there. There is some scout reports I read that specified how he his positioning, efficiency and maturity at level it something they see once or twice a generation. That's pretty were his name as a player is from still.

Edit: Nvm now I see after hand the others addressed it.

marotta was excelent with free players, just great. no one could've done better. it's the 15-20-25 mil players he can't make a good choice. how the fuck can you pick morata instead of jese...or instead of lacazette..or instead of immobile (serie a's cappocanoniere)..or instead of aboubakar. he needs to open his eye(s)
he's a pretty good player. Touted as one of the next big things in Spain. He's a frenchy. Gonna cost a crap ton of money too.

Let's move the Morata conversation to his thread. Leave the Pogba thread for the hilarious back and forth between those of us who are convinced we'll sell him in the next couple years, and those who desperately desire this not to be case. :D

These are the toughest transfers to get right. Those in that age bracket that do well tend to have incredibly high prices and if you buy them right before they explode then you pay in the 15-20 range but take a risk. Lukaku went for 28 mill pounds after he exploded and has regressed again. Lacazette's price will now soar and no one could have expected him to explode like that this season and not morata. We have to wait for as long as we can get the results without relying on him until he starts taking his chances.

Lacazette could make a big money transfer next year and regress massively. Lukaku did it. Morata could explode next year. Immobile could find his form for Dortmund and really turn into a star, instead of a one season wonder. And so on and so forth.

It's so hard to tell with young strikers in that 19-24 age range, who haven't had more than a single good season, or even just several fantastic games, whether they will ever consistently show their talent at the highest level. Hence the reason these guys are generally going for 10-30m instead of 50-60m.

Lacazette had 22 goals last season and he was playing the 9,5 striker behind Gomis... it was his second season as a regular at Lyon. I wouldn't call this year his first good season. The difference is that Gomis left this past summer and Lacazette was moved to the 9 spot, his best position. Fekir is now playing the 9,5 for Lyon.

On every level of youth NT for France, he's been the best CF and been very good.

He's no fluke... since 2011, everyone has been watching him. He was the co top scorer in the U20 WC in Columbia in 2011 with 5 goals in 9 games.

lacazette was a goal scoring machine since he had 17 years. i watched u19 and u21 and he played well there(plus the trophies he won at france u). i didn't heard of morata playing great at madrid or spains u.

I don't think you guys quite understand the position of Serie A and Juve when you mention names like Lacazette, Reus, etc. Juve can't afford the wages that are going to be offered elsewhere. Reus is wanted by everyone and Lacazette has Liverpool and Tottenham on him. What does that mean? wages of well over 100k a week without a blink.

That's the reason Pogba is likely sold this summer too. He's being offered wages of 8+ mil net a season. Juve don't offer exit clauses... but they do promise players that they will not block a sale if the player asks to leave for wages that are 15% over their current one at the club and Juve aren't willing to match it. This allows them to get players otherwise nobody of quality would ever come to Juve. You can't block players in today's football world unless you're Bayern (only top club who does it).

That said, Pogba hasn't asked to leave yet. Let's hope it stays this way. Of course, if a 100 mil offer comes in, Juve may have no choice but to sell for their own sake.

What i don't like is that Marotta and Allegri are already hinting consistently that Juve cannot resist a large offer and that wages that are rumored are too high for Juve... seems to me that they are preparing the fans for the inevitable this summer. A shame really.

Again with this.

He's not going anywhere ffs. This is becoming silly, every day, hour, the same bs of his imminent leave. Redundancy, reminds of the days when all that people debated here was 4-3-3 vs 3-5-2 across every thread, or is the stadium too small, rods are obstructing the view, etc... Rinse and repeat.

This isn't necessarily true. We could make very good buys, and end up with 2-3 very good starters from it. Luck would play a part of it, but we could plausibly end up with a vastly superior team to this current team with Pogba. Or we could end up making 2-3 terrible buys that flop, and have the sale be an unmitigated disaster. The reality is probably somewhere in between.

All I want is for us to keep him through the Euros. No matter what offers our made and what he wants, he should not be sold until after Euro 2016. Ideally, we'd keep him for a year after the Euros, until summer 2017, even if he is ready to leave, because then we get the chance to capitalize on his performance from Euros, with increased media coverage of all things Juventus by extension, and potentially having a top 3 player in the world playing for us.

All that said, though you forgot to factor in, we have Marotta he wouldn't be able to capitalize on Pogba the right way for the club. Mentioning the risk of potential flops along the way, it's indicative we don't let him go unless if it's his will. It will deflate the club and regaining Serie A's reputation what it once was before of bright star players.

He's leaving this window. I have a source. I use my hair as aerials and pick up signals from the cosmos. And these signals say Pogba is leaving this window, for 60 m. We're so fucked.
