He's one of the best strikers in the world. That's undeniable.
And one of the dumbest, that's for sure. And I don't mean football wisdom.

I'd say he won't leave. It's been years since we last faced the situation in which the richest clubs fought for our players. How do You know what Juve's response will be?
I assume everyone turn on the panic button so that they won't be too dissappointed if he actually left. However, there's no need to drama. Paul is happy here, still hasn't reached the ceiling with us and we can offer him good money. Andrea Agnelli brought some confusion with his words about Paul, yet he said "irresistible offer". I bet he didn't mean 40-50 milion kind of offer because accepting it would be simply dumb.
I think we'll give him 5-6 milion per year now to keep him for at least two another years. It seems his value may only increase.

After signing Pirlo for two more years is Verratti worth getting in the deal? I'm thinking no unless conte can make Pirlo and Verratti co-exist.

I don't know whether he'll leave this summer...question is, sell him now in an inflated market and get 40 million, or wait a season or two, bank on him being even better again and hopefully the inflated market stays the same and we make 80 million on him.

For me, we are better with him and vidal in midfield.

Pogba = 40 million plus a player (potentially...if not then maybe more cash)
Marchisio, Vucinic, Quags = 40 to 50 million with potentially a player like lamela joining

I know which one I would be doing.

This is quite a difficult proposition. Trying to weigh up a matrix of probabilities based on projected sale values, potential improvements of skill sets in the medium term and even trying to set a valuation now - never mind the future - is a very tricky calculation to have to make.

Looking at Pogba now and contextualized in connexion with where we were 18 months ago when we got him for nothing, it is almost hard to remember that he was relatively unknown to even avid football watchers. At the time we were tracking him in 2012 and when we were reportedly connected with a transfer move from Manchester United, very few Juventus fans had seen him in action. So, the excitement in terms of his current value, given the relatively short time he's been with us, makes it hard to assess his real worth.

Nonetheless, given the names of those clubs reportedly being linked with "interest" in him, it is crystal clear that his value, when looked at in comparison with those transfers made in the last 12 months for highly prized players, must be extremely high. His future expected development potential factored into the equation, should suggest that his absolute current minimum value would be somewhere in the region of €60m. I'd suggest that if it came to the crunch that Pogba decided he wanted to accept an offer from someone like Real Madrid or Paris St. Germain and that Juve were not going to stand in his way, then we should place a value on him of €70m.

To what extent Juve currently see him as absolutely essential to our medium term future will dictate any decision on hiking his salary to a level that meets the players requirement and somehow managesd not to break the clubs general wage structure.

If, he does leave at the end of this season, I would imagine that our management will be in a position from considerable strength with a view to securing replacement(s) with PX or cash agreements to strengthen the current squad even further than its current level. Given that we are reportedly about to receive an offer for Marchisio from Manchester United as they seek to improve their v. average midfield, we need to tread very carefully indeed.

Personally, I hope that we can squeeze another 18 months out of PP and then cash in after we win our 4th successive scudetto title in 2015 and are in a position to attract the very best from world football.

He's in the top ten, but no way is his valuation that much for a player (through no fault of his own) hasn't kicked a CL ball in well over 2 years
My valuation is based on what Bale went for. You can say what you want about the CL, but that doesn't really matter. Especially when you consider his exploits in major tournaments for his country. Anyway, let's cool the Suarez talk in the Pogba thread.

you mean besides tripling any wages he might get from us? on paper PSG is and will be for years to come many folds more competitive than us

We gotta pull a Liverpool and refuse to sell no matter what
Or at least tip you get a sweet release clause in his contract.

what enron said, objectively 40 mil is a good price, but as far as we juventini are concerned we see him as the big lottery prize, i think if the qataris offer him 8 mil a year he will want to leave at which point 40 mil will look even better.

I dont think that matters to them though. Not to mention they recently made that hefty 200m sponsorship deal which is saving their ass in terms of FFP.

Its the small clubs that are going to get affected by this new ruling.

And the rule is for only 2 years anyway.

Pogba worth 40m? Loserpool fans. :sergio: Maybe last summer, but considering market today I'd surprised if he went for that amount. IMO bellow 60m there is no discussion. We're talking about captain of U-20 WC winning team, possibly the best player of his generation. He's having a wonderful season so far, has been decisive in so many games for us, displaying his immense talent and 40m is rather ridiculous valuation.

Clubs are paying absurd amounts for bunch of Brazilian kids each summer, Oscar 30m IIRC, Lucas 45m, etc... And some here claim that Pogs is worth mere 40m. LOL

Don't be offended bro. I'm calling it from a neutral perspective. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

In my book being captain of the U-20s and having lots of potential doesn't equate to a similar fee to Cavani.

Didn't know about the 2 year limit. But at least they have to pay almost double the players' salary.
