Hypothetical scenario.Nothing wrong in discussing them.

Either ways selling him now, we would ultimately be on the loosing end of the deal. We will get less $$ than we potentially could, we would loose a WC player in the making and the team will regress, we will be sending the wrong message to the other players (Vidal could follow at Real for 40ish) and not to mention we will be damaging our own image, a big club like Juventus unable to retain a young talent is simply pathetic.

It's very hard to make a call on Pogba without really being able to make much of a educated guess at how long Pogba will stay at Juve:

If you think there is the chance he'll still be around in five years then you aren't going to consider any offer that isn't absolutely crazy;

If you think he's going to be around for a couple of years or less then you are going to keep an eye on every offer that might allow you to get hold of a player (such as Verratti) that Juve could build a team around for ten years.

If Pogba is going to sign a new contract with Juve then Juve should be able to forget any thought of selling for a couple of years at least.

Between Vidal, Marchisio(27), Pirlo(34), Asamoah, heck I'll even throw in Naingolan. Loosing a 20 year old prodigy won't make the team regress?

In terms of what ? In terms of competing for silverware ? Absolutely not. We'd still be able to maintain our current shape and bulldoze teams in the league. We'd be losing one of the best young talents yes,but not to the extent that he is JUST that important to the team already.

However the same cant be said if a lose a player like Vidal for example.

The thing is if we were to sell say when he is around 23-25. He will have some years of exprience and will probably be more developed at that point. At this point he is a keyman but isnt as influential as vidal. However in the future he could be. At that point i dont even think 80m or so will be enough to replace him.

It's not necessarily about being able to replace him as much as choosing to sell at the right time so that your bargaining position is as strong as it can be.

This is, of course, if the time comes where Juve have to allow him to leave for whatever reason.

Or did you mean that Juve should sell him now because he's not as important as he may be in a couple of years? :D

Pogba contributes a lot to this squad, but I agree not to the point he is not indispensable. However the squad as a whole and our chances for silverware in the future WILL regress if we loose Pogba. He may not be necessary now but you best believe our team will have better odds with a 26 year old Pogba than a Naingolan or whatever other player will be used as replacement.

Look at Man U they'd be twice the team they are had they kept Pogba.

We'll gain popularity with him around and eventually money from jersey sales, marketing contracts, sponsors, etc... Selling him now would be such a waste of potential income.

How do you know that ? On what basis can you say that ?

I just cant agree with that.Losing Pogba now is a big deal economically speaking(since we'd lose out on more if we sold say 2 seasons later) but not at a sporting level.

And its not like we're broke as fuck you know. We're progressing economically and we can have that spending power in the future.

Two season is A LOT specially for a 20 year old player. Pogba will progress a lot in two years, and to say selling him in two years will not have an impact on us from a sporting perspective is absolute shocking (was gonna turn into Zach there and call you peasant :p ) to me, Pirlo is aging so we'll need to change tactics and who is better to build a team around other than a 20 year old phenom?

Anyways, in my opinion loosing Pogba I see us loosing more than just euro signs, we will be loosing a star player that has the sky set as his limit.

Nah, I do happen to rate Verratti highly and I don't think Pogba will stay with us for more than a couple of years.

Verratti and 30 million euros would be a decent deal.
I believe that would be a huge mistake. And I don't want Verrati anywhere nears this club. This is kinda turning into hatred towards him, I really really really don't want a regista. I want a goddam trequarista!! And a beast of a midfield and a poacher a la Trezeguet is it too much to ask?! And one side order of Mauro too please.
