KDB and Locatelli > Pogba in this tournament. But he is third best.
KdB hasn't played a lot because of injuries but he certainly has been good when he has played. Not sure that one good game against Finland and one good half against Denmark is enough to surpass Pogba though. Locatelli has been good but not in the same ballpark as Pogba and KdB imo. Jorginho has been the standout Italian mid in this tournament for me.

Locatelli for me. Jorginho been off and on invisible at times, goes absent from matches for periods of time. Locatelli been the driving force pushing Italy forward whenever he’s on the pitch. Doesn’t have the polish of the other two, or Jorginho, but I’d say he’s been the most effective in all-around play, and makes less mistakes than Pogba. My standout for the tourney thus far. We shall have to see if that continues against better competition though.

A game that summed him up. Some excellent plays and some really poor ones.

I think having Mbappe, Benzema and Griezmann ahead of him makes a huge difference for him. They are a worry for teams and drag defences around so well, which creates space for him to operate and then there is Kante mopping up behind him. Some of the passes he makes are not that difficult given the time and space he has and movement of the attacker. Some are excellent though.

I think if you only watch football for highlight reels or have no appreciation for tactics he is a 10/10.

He is definitely a talented player though, if he focussed and was less cocky on the pitch he could be the best CM out there. The problem is you really need to play him 5 yards further forward and have 2 mopping up around him, plus a strong attack to free him up. You can see why it hasn't worked for him Man Utd, they don't have that. To be honest PSG with Neymar, Mbappe, Verratti and another defensive mid would fit him well.

Come on, man.

I hate his celebrations and I can't stand France.

But Pogba was sheer brilliance this tournament.

I just said third best mid in entire tournament thus far. Hardly selling him short as a scrub.

He also had some unbelievably stupid moments like losing the ball for the tying goal today. That was incredibly poor

Apart from Holes those players have been playing as wingers/wide midfielders so not really the same position as Pogba. Same could be said for KdB as well though who mostly plays further forward for Belgium.
In that case there's hardly many players to throw in that category as a lot of the monnows play with defensive mids, only one worth a shout might be wijnaldum.

KDB only played 1,5 meaningful game and Locatelli has been very good, but clearly was not on Pogba's level.

Pogba has probably been the best player in this tournament.

Man, I can watch his goal celebration over and over and over again right now.

And he’ll still be at home because of his dumbass giveaway. His face after that tying goal was just wonderful. Poor guy. Does like 5 different dances celebrating his own goal for almost a minute, in Rof16 match that hadn’t been won yet, so karma bites him on the ass and he gives away the ball for the 90th minute equalizer that allowed the Swiss to send his team packing. Storylines don’t get any better. Hubris lol

I disagree. Pogba has been great going forward in this tourney but doesn’t put the effort in tracking back and is dispossessed too easily and too often. Locatelli has played a much better all-around game.
