Why are we a 'selling club' if we've decided to cash in on someone we signed for free for a world record €120m fee?

People here really are troubled. There's not a player in the world worth that much money so if someone is willing to pay us that then let them.

Cheers to being a 'selling' club
Well take 120m and bring us Messi, Bale or Neymar... either would do, no picky

If Pogba doesn't leave this summer, he's gone next. And though I'd like another year with him here, having to listen to all this nonsense again next summer almost makes me prefer selling him for a world record fee now. It's amusing for a time, but it sure gets irritating when it goes on and on and on.

Dybala may not stay for 10 years, but I'd bet my socks he's here for another 3-4 years minimum. I've said it before, that I never felt Pogba was the guy here, that management meant to build the team around him. I think they knew from the start that they were on borrowed time... With Dybala however, they have made it pretty clear that he is a player they want to build this team around for the post Gigi era, that they will hold on tight to him.
Totally agreed.

When you think about it it's kinda crazy. We signed a guy for 0 (or 1 million) and now we sell him for 100-120mln. People say we're shit but in fact it's gonna draw many young players here if anything. I love Pogs but if those numbers are true I'd honestly sell him cause imo he's not worth that kind of cash. With smart moves we can even make this team stronger from the cash received.

Dybala will only move for a crazy number like Pogba but unlike him I believe we'd refuse and make him happy for many years to come. I actually won't be surprised if he stays for 10 years here. Pogba is marketing. Dybala is soul of the team.

I have no problem with this. And I seriously doubt it's ever going to lead to us having fire-sales of half our starters over a couple years, like some are suggesting.

Disappointing to lose Pogba (if he goes :D ), but I'm super excited to see what this team looks like post-mercato.

He asked for it. I don't mind an interim 10 for a year.

Dybala should be our 10, though 21 works as well I suppose. I'd like Pjanic as 21 and Dybala as 10.
I do. But it's all academic. Honestly don't know what we are doing with the money, coz this is big money notionally. When you actually go to buy, the quality price value equation is absolutely disproportionate. Anyway fuck it. Prefer closure one way or another. Just disappointed with the outcome of losing him to a non uCL team. Such a slap in the face. Yea, Dybala works as 10. Pjanic as a 21.

If Pogba goes for the 120m euro, and news proves correct that atletico is going for higuain at 60m plus multiple player exchange, we have a lane to cavani who would compliment dybala nicely. plus plenty of funds to beef up the ranks for a fit squad

We don't have a lane to Cavani since he is the only top forward in oil rich PSG.

Therein lies the difference. Unlike you after I vented (this forum has some purpose afterall) I can move on and look forward to the upcoming season. No point in brooding about this. What's done is done and I hope that in due time we'll abandon this ridiculous policy of listening to our players wishes. While I expect you'll continue your crusade. :)
There is a sense of relief it's over. My core issue in this deal is losing him to a non uCL team. Makes us come out looking weak. And I totally disagree with the policy of player wanting out and they are free to leave. It is invented. In this scenario, club was as open to dealing with the buyer as player was open negotiating a wage. Raiola had his part. The task for Marrotta is cut out because 120m is not as big a sum as it appears on paper. And another thing that pisses me off is that our brand just took a hit. No matter how much you win, if the brand doesn't have appeal, your projection of success will always suffer.
