I just don't understand why he had to dribble when he had a clear chance for shooting like that wasted chance when he tried to dribble their defender.I don't know if this is a desire to humiliate/embarass opponent's player or a child attitude where he thinks that he is playing with his friends from the block.

Paul, I love you. But you are trying to do everything when you don't need to be. Keep the basics man and don't let the number you are trying to honor consume you. What a bad performance yesterday. Allegri needs a 1 on 1 with him and make sure his expectations are clear.

I think the number will have had less of an impact on his performance than the feeling that he had to do more to make up for the various missing midfielders.

I haven't seen him "try" so hard to the point were it was clear he was overdoing himself out there. Whether the number or absent midfielders I'm not sure but what I am sure on is he needs to start keeping it simple. Needs to know the difference between when to be flashy and when to be smart to get the 3 points in the bag.

Probably had a lot to do with the atmosphere as the first home game of a new season. High expectations, etc.

Just getting on with the learning curve am sure he'll bounce back stronger. I would let him continue with the freekicks but leave the corners to someone else. Marchisio's corners

The only thing that was stopping his shots yesterday was thin air, gravity & the crowd behind the goal.

He shouldn't be a FK taker.
His freekicks were terrible yesterday but we know the boy has super shots - question: Is it worth it to explore the possibility of that transferred to freekicks? Besides I prefer he takes them than Bonucci.

IF we want him to get better then he can practice when we have the lead. NOT when 3 points are on the line.

not worried about Paul. he tried too hard, probably felt that he needs to work 5x as much due to Pirlo, Vidal and Tevez gone, and Marchisio and Morata sidelined and due to that has overdone it. im sure he will bounce back and will be getting us wins, maybe even next game vs Roma. i have full faith in him
