Je me sens bien.

Cette question me choque.

Absolutely amazing, I didn't expect Le Guen to quit after this season. Now it will be interesting to see where he travels to next......shame he couldn't have waited until Capello wanted out of Juventus.

It's quite a story, Lyon had never won any titles, their best ever placing was 2nd place (Parma). Then Santini just did it, after a couple of seasons at the club he won the title, it was incredible. But then he quit and moved up in management. So Le Guen took over. And he just kept on winning. :dazed:

Roma? Lyon has the biggest budget in the league and they have terrific players. Le Guen is good but he's not a miracle worker :D

Le Guen quits at Lyon
May 9, 2005
World Soccer

Paul Le Guen has resigned as coach of four-time French league champions Lyon.

"I've decided not to extend my contract," said Le Guen. "I leave proud of my achievements.

"I was offered the chance to stay for three more years but I decided not to carry on here. I leave happy and thanking everyone in the club."

Le Guen, 44, guided Lyon to three straight titles after taking over from Jacques Santini, who left to coach the French national team, in 2002.

Media reports have linked him with his former club Paris St Germain, although it has been suggested that he may take a break from the game altogether.

"I don't know what I'm going to do next," said Le Guen. "The only thing I'm certain is that I'm not tired of soccer."

After spells with Brest and Nantes, he joined Paris St Germain in 1991. During his seven years at the club, Le Guen won the French title in 1994, the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1996, lifted the French Cup three times and won 17 caps for France.

After hanging up his boots, Le Guen coached Stade Rennes between 1998 and 2001, before joining Lyon in 2002.

Lyon secured this year's title with a 2-1 win over Ajaccio on Sunday.

A number of candidates have been already been suggested as Le Guen's replacement with former Nantes and Real Sociedad coach Raynald Denoueix, Lille's Claude Puel, and Rennes coach Lazlo Boloni among the frontrunners.

Weird... best of luck to him though!

Btw do you read French, Z?
No. I read about him quitting on another forum, and I needed a source when posting it here, so I went to their officiall site and pasted the text. I have no idea what it says :D

English, Swedish and German for me ;)

Le Guen is the next Manchester United coach. Maybe not next season, but he'll be the man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson. Mark my words.

Le guen wasnt impressive as a player but he did a great job with Lyon. Anyhoo the text in french says that he wont be going to a french side ( PSG included) and he's had contacts with foreign teams but nothing "concrete" yet. Maybe Inter?

I beg to differ, Altair. Le Guen was quite a good player, one of the pundits of the great PSG of the mid 90's. Let alone that he's palyed for the NT numerous times.

Marseille badly need a competent coach, which Troussier is not IMO. But Lyon president, J-M Aulas said Le Guen would not go to a French club and PSG new boss, Pierre Blayau shall probably stick with Laurent Fournier anyway. I think Le Guen will go to the Premier League.

Nice spot Zlatan, I've been thinking where he might end up and I never thought of manure. He is most probably the man for that job.

Of course he left, France isnt competitive enough for Le Guen.

So you know, there has been a rumour going around for quite a long-time that he was going to join Man Utd within the next 2 years...

EPL has always attracted french coaches.

it would be weird to see him in Milan, but why not?

btw is it sure AncelottiPig will quit?
