Vieira to miss Milan trip?
Thursday 20 October, 2005
Patrick Vieira may fail in his attempt to be fit for Juventus’ clash against Milan at the end of this month.

The Frenchman was pencilled in to return to the side for the October 29 tie against his former club.

However, Vieira is struggling to shake off a hamstring problem and is now a major doubt for the San Siro showdown.

The £14m summer signing from Arsenal picked up the injury on international duty, but isn’t reacting too well to treatment.

The midfielder hasn’t trained at all since he was replaced after just 23 minutes of France’s final World Cup game against Cyprus.

Vieira, who has only undergone sessions of physiotherapy and pool work, was hoping to be fit for the Milan clash.

That will reportedly only happen if he can resume light training with the rest of the squad from this weekend.

Vieira will undergo a number of tests on Monday which should give a clearer indication of whether he will be available for the game.

Boss Fabio Capello will certainly hope to have him at his disposal as the Bianconeri struggled badly without Vieira in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Turin giants were outplayed by Bayern Munich who collected a comfortable 2-1 win in Germany.

Vieira will also miss the League games against Lecce and Sampdoria over the next seven days.

Giuliano Giannichedda or Manuele Blasi are now expected to partner Emerson in central midfield

acording to sports.it shevas injuiry is not bad. he may only miss the game against palermo.
They talked to a doctor, don´t record the source, about this kind of injurys. Not the one of Viera in specific.
The outcome? Anything from 2 weeks to 6 months. So I wont believe anything before it is official.

Scans on the heel of Andrei Shevchenko have revealed that the injury he suffered against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday is not as serious as was first thought.

It had been feared that the Ukrainian would face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but doctors confirmed on Thursday that although there was slight bruising to his achilles' tendon, there has been no damage to the bone.

Shevchenko limped off the field at the start of the second half at the Giuseppe Meazza after suffering a blow to the back of his foot.

Although the injury is not serious, it is still highly unlikely that he will recover fully before Sunday's game with Palermo.

damn, ah well sheva did not score against us last year so hope canna and co can shut him out, actually it might be good because i fear vieri against us for some reason

Henry: We Haven't Made People Forget Vieira
10/21/2005 11:27:00 AM
Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has suggested that his club’s failure to replace Patrick Vieira is one of the major reasons why they have struggled this season.
------------------
Since the sale of Vieira to Milan, the Gunners have performed
------------------
poorly in the Premiership, although in the Champions League they have a 100% record.

"The most important thing was to make people forget Patrick Vieira left and try to go on a good run and catch Chelsea. We’ve not done that," he said.

"In the past I’ve been asked why we could do it in the Premiership but not in Europe. Now they’re asking the other way round.

"Without looking for excuses, we’ve been missing and are still missing key players."

p.s.: Why is goal.com from time to time soo stupid??

After the match against Bayern, today’s medical examination has not reported any remarkable situation, if excluded a bruise to Giannichedda’s left foot and a modest muscular fatigue to Thuram’s left abductor. The possibility for them to train will be analysed tomorrow.

Vieira has been following a different training schedule, with increasing intensity, since Monday and the response is good.

all different reports on vieira this is from juventus.com maybe after the lecce match their will be some solid news
