exactly. judging him solely on his last season isn´t really fair.
i´m pretty sure that *put your favourite LB in here* wouldn´t have looked all that great in a completely broken united side...

Imagine any top squad with David Moyes as their coach. The same haphazard, overly cautious, overly defensive and unorganised shit would be on display. The man was built for small-medium clubs. I don't blame any United players for the seasons they had in 13/14.

Signing Evra only makes sense if we are investing in two proper wingers.
Seeing how we deal so far it seems it's going to be one. And 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2 next season.

Or it's going to be Tevez - Llorente - Iturbe

If we sign two then be sure that one is gonna be cheap and bench option.

    But next summer...

If we take him for depth, instead of him i prefer Murru from Cagliari. Generally, he has much potential and is Italian. And he is not cost that much (add his wages)

That would still be an improvement over our currrent formation

Wtf has Murru done and shown to be constantly name dropped with the bigger clubs? Totally anonymous the times I seen him. Ageing Evra who used to be top class is way more welcomed by me even if I'm not keen on him, compared to someone who is wanted just because he is young and italian. De Sciglio is overrated enough hack for that, dont need another.

Yes, but he was still the worst out of that back-line and didn't look too impressive for the NT as well. I guess he will be fine in the league, due to the opposition quality but its in CL where he will be exposed. It seems strange that Marotta didn't decide to approach him before he signed the extension with Man U. So not Marotta like .

again: he didn´t sign an extension, manu had an option for 1 more year and used it... (as far as we know)

"...but there also is a new detail about the wingback’s extension with Manchester United which further explains the situation. Despite what his agents stated, Evra was never eligible for a free transfer since Man United had exercised a clause in his contract before May 15th, which extended his contract by another season without even having to talk to the player..."

Ok make sense there for Marotta not entering into an agreement earlier.

Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is closing in on a move to Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Evra signed a new one-year contract at the end of last season, but United have subsequently signed England international Luke Shaw from Southampton. Juventus will reportedly pay around €1million (£792,000) for Evra.

That would be a great short term fix

Do you know of another lb available?

We really need a winger, so if we get Iturbe then great but we would also need a lb. Evra would come extremely cheap and then hopefully we could have some more funds to get another winger or improve in another area.

Mediaset along with Sky reporting he is close and United would get 1m for him
