Yes we do :) How do you know about the plant cell business?

Yes they are less susceptible to drought, but we don't have any problems with that, so all of our plants are grown in pots with the roots submerged in soil :)
Well, I'm a gardener myself (nothing like the set up you guys have going)...just a domestic gardener. I had to start from scratch as the house was new and only had turf front, back and sides. In four years I've pretty well created and filled up the borders, planted some small trees, and added some colour.

Many of the people I work with have green houses, and they grow many exotic and wonderful things, including orchids. They are constantly talking about how they cultivate this and that, and I pick up from what they're saying.

I'm a member of Kokoomus, it's a conservative party, currently 3rd largest party in Finland (biggest if you look at the results of last EU election :D) So I'm not a communist, don't worry! :D ;) But still it's quite difficult time for our party, we we're the biggest loser's in last parliamentary election and we've been looking for our "new look" for a moment now. We just recently changed our party's chairman and luckily it's seems that our support is rising again...

Joining to this party was my own, personal decision, my family doesn't really support any political movement, but now they're supporting me and my decision, so I'm happy. I looked carefully at every party's programs and websites, magazines etc. It was a long process but now I feel that I made a right decision, this is definitely the best place for me. I'll try to get to the local council in next election which will be held in autumn...

So, a conservative. Almost an extinct species here in Scotland. These things go in cycles though, and they'll be back big and strong soon I'm sure.

...and you have political aspirations too. Good luck Mr PM.

I'm gonna put you on the spot here. Where do you stand on the environment? Nuclear fuel over carbon based? Wind power over natural gas?

Im also involved in politics in my country. Im not of any specific party because right now we're fighting to get Chavez out of the power. On August 15th there will be elections and hopefully the YES will win!

    Chavez...Hugo Chavez?..are you from Venezuela.

Yeah, I think I remember you mentioned that somewhere

the conservatives are the biggest party in European Parlament :)D), I thought that we're pretty popular everywhere  Or do you mean that Scotland is full of (dammit, what's the word?) eh, blue collar workers?!

and your question is pretty actual in here too, because we're just building new nuclear reactor... As the former Greenpeace boss and known green activist (I don't remember his name now) just recently stated (which was quite a shock to Greenpeace and to green party in general) nuclear power is the best we can do right now. I'm with him in this one, nuclear power isn't that dangerous nowadays, it's the cheapest and even the most nature friendly solution now.

I think I'm right in saying that of the 71 Scottish MP's at the UK Parliament, there isn't one single Conservative. When the tories where in power they had to get English based MP's to act as Scottish Secretary of State. ...and, yes, Scotland is pretty full of blue collar workers

Well, this is a major debate everywhere now, as you say. When this former greenpeace chap made his statement about the benefits of nuclear power, everyone here was shocked too. Within the next twenty years Briatain will be out of oil, and reliant on other sources for fuel. Many tories are advocating a return to nuclear, whilst the labour party are pumping billions into wind and wave power (notice no solar power mentioned here:dontcare:)....just wanted to know the position where you are Poku. Cheers

I think I'm right in saying that of the 77?
?? Anyway, what about your opinion about this one?!

Oh, and I just realized that probably tories are the ones I meant, not conservatives?! Are the tories a part of EPP-party in European Parlament?! That's the party I belong!! Just take a look at my avatar... :D

Hey man...give me a nuclear powered car that doesn't need refueled for 60,000 years and I'll vote for you, no problem:D

As for the other part of the question I haven't got the slightest clue...I lost interest in the Political system in the UK after so many years of poilcy gazzumping (Stealing) between the parties. They all seem the same here now, except for minor issues.

Nuclear power is environmental friendly? I'm not sure that's how I would put it. Perhaps it's the least pollutant source of energy but you still gotta dump the refuse somewhere..

Theres a legal case here in Scotland at the moment that's grabbed the local headlines. A farmer is suing British Nuclear Fuel for radioactive contamination of his land as a result of constant leaks over many years from a nearby nuclear power station. His land will be unusable for thousands of years, and he's seeking compensation.

When it works it's great, when it goes wrong the hurt last a long time.

Remember that Simpsons episode with the two headed, three eyed fish:dielaugh: Jeez, I'm sick:frown:

Sorry Poku, I didn't realise you were asking that question:eek:

The 'tories' is another name for the Conservatives in the UK. They are the same party
