Do we even know this is ISIS, though??

Could be just loosely wannabe affiliated fanboys.
well, it could be a bunch of really disgruntled vegans who were offered nothing but eggs and bacon at a Paris Bistro a couple of weeks back.

or, the other competing theory - patients of a mental-hospital, who were outraged by how pointless the France-Germany game was and decided to put an end to the travesty.

then again it could be ISIS or Al Qaeda but that would be too insensitive a speculation.

what I am saying is that when you are splitting hairs, like you did, you know you are already hunting for excuses.

do you honestly believe that the questions of said survey were so treacherous and ill-conceived that the real number of ISIS supporters, to one extent or another, is 4000 as opposed to 40+ mil. Trying to look for excuses in fine-tuning how the questions may have been worded or not is only relevant (to an extent) in say figuring out if a person is willing to go fight for ISIS (or commit atrocities on their behalf) or just supports their ideology, in general. A level of support is present either way and that's the part that matters.

And I am not married to the 42 mil number either - even if the real number is only 1/4th of that, that would already be a cause for concern.

So, unless you are claiming that the survey consisted of asking a blind person to push one of two really, really closely-spaced buttons, yes, you are splitting hairs in looking for an excuse. At some point, you just have to accept that things are what they are and the world is not this beautiful place with rivers made out of honey.
My point was that it is most likely a pointless survey that wouldn't mean 42ml or even half would go fight for Isis. A nothing survey if you will. I was merely questioning the integrity of the number given. When did i ever say the world was a utopia? You like to change topics and put words in peoples mouths to further your argument. It's redundant.

What do you think of the fact that some Western countries have revoked passports of those trying to emigrate to live under ISIS rule, as Sharia states is necessary with the establishment of a Caliphate?

From what I gather most of these people aren't jailed, but they are probably monitored... But it sure makes for an interesting subset of a disgruntled population.

that would be a stupid thing to do. Don't know how widespread such a step would be but that's basically asking for trouble by forcing the already radicalized (at least to an extent) garbage to stay and stink up your house.
As for monitoring their activities, yeah, that one's working out just fine for the French.

Let them go. Let all that garbage gather in one place and then leave the russians to take it out for you. :p

It's been happening in England and Australia, for sure, and other countries I'm certain too.

Interesting solution there. :shifty:
