He was way too late lol. So just going through the motion of trying. He has extreme length so he prolly used to recovering. But not when someone dunks with such power and momentum.

Most others would prolly not tried, to avoid the poster. But defense first guys try to stop anything.

The swimming game changed so much — it’s wild that Phelps doesn’t even hold any world records or Olympic records anymore

that Chinese dude Pan Zhanle was unreal in the 100m free @Rockets

+ the Romanian David Popovici in the 200m free @Alin

also obviously Marchand — that’s pretty much all I followed this Olympics

Knowing what impact Phelps had on the swimming competitions it is quite surprising to see all his records being beaten this soon already but truth is most swimmers seem more robotic than ever, training methods and preparations are probably as advanced as ever to get them into the best shape when the moment comes, more so than in the past.

Regarding Popovici, he is probably one of the few still training in outdated romanian facilities(because we don’t have better) but he is out there working 24\7 to overcome it, ironically everyone had him as one of the favorites in the 100m race where he only got a bronze while winning the gold at 200m race where very few gave him any chances, but i think he focused more on that one this time because of seeing what competition he has at 100m.

milák kristóf won the 100m butterfly after losing the 200m crown to marchand

that's not news in itself. dude is probably the biggest swimming talent since phelps, so he's likely to win at least one, right? well he missed training for months, it was rumored that he won't even compete, started preparation way too late, he was admittedly out of shape, so for me it's a miracle that he even made to a final, let alone won a gold and a silver

this is lovely. that's sports, not the dutch pedo being there because some administrators failed to have some common sense

i thought he wouldn't win a big title against alcaraz or sinner. i might be wrong but this must be his first win earned on the court against a top10 player this season (he had a walkover against de minaur earlier this week)

This is why I fucking love sports. The emotions from Djokovic man! I just wish we had another 15 years of Djokovic v Alcarez
Nah. On these very forums circa 2003, Martin was lamenting the demise of tennis greats like Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras.

I was like, "But what about Roger Federer?"

We don't need to watch a 57-year-old Ronaldo playing for Portugal anymore.

Lyles did well to pull that back as he didn't start well, great time and close race. The Jamaican is a big dude and he wasn't very smooth at the end, he was grimacing and just about got caught.

Has there ever been a closer 100m at the Olympics?
Lyles with 9.784, Thompson with 9.789. That's 5,000ths of a second ffs.
