It's not about handling a hot headed guy, but being strict and not ignoring shit that is happening. He's a cold blooded and he won't tolerate shit.

I'm not saying Osvaldo is not gonna make some trouble, though. Nobody knows that.
He never managed a hot headed guy for that to make sense. All we know so far is that Conte fires up his team and is a good motivator in Serie A.

Why are you so sure that Conte would need to set him straight? He will know his place next to the likes of Buffon, Pirlo, Giorgio, Barza, Licht, Vidal like some guy said earlier.

The only problem would be the money, but I dont think that Marotta will pay so much for him.
His attitude is the least of my worries. I was correcting your non-sense praising about Conte.

Southampton actually bought Osvaldo for €15M. 6 months after they could be able to offload him for the same price despite the fact that he hasn't performed.

Do you think that was a fair price?
Of course not, it was retarded to pay that for such a player. However, market and prices are heavily inflated.

Also, Osvaldo was bought for 18mln before and he scored plenty of goals.

12/13: 29 games and 16 goals + 2 assists
11/12: 26 games, 11 goals + 5 assists

He also had 13 goals in Spain before that.

It's not like we're overpaying. His price was 18mln when he was in Spain and when he returned to Italy. What makes you say his price should be below 15mln at this point? Because of twitter?

Like I said, Matri went for 12mln and plenty of other players went to some club for crazy amounts.

Matri was like 15m+.

To compare, Amauri was 22.8m.
Matri was 17mln but he went to Milan for 12mln.

Both cases are insane.

Just checked the old mercato thread and we paid 18m. :shocked2:

They spend more but they buy less players. Last time I checked we needed quality, not quantity. We have enough bench players as it is.

And what's the point of replacing Vucinic even if we sell him this month? We already have 4 forwards as it is, and we always use the same 2. Always. Now we're even out of Coppa and we'll be out of EL in the coming weeks too. 4 forwards for Serie A are enough.

Let's save those €15M for players who would improve our starting line up, or who could actually give the coach a different option to change formation, rather than an expensive bench forward.
Oh, Klin... you're well aware that Quag and Giovinco do NOT offer absolutely anything here. You CANNOT rely on 2 strikers when you're playing with 2. What if, God forbid, somebody gets injured? You need at least 3 strikers capable of playing regularly in a team. We don't have that at the moment, we have only 2.

Where did I praise Conte?

And also, do you think that Conte would fail to manage him if he does something stupid?

15M for Osvaldo would be meh/overpaid. 10-12M would be a fair deal, anything less than 10M and we did good business IMO.

I don't think Osvaldo will be a bench player, he'll rotate heavily with Tevez and Llorente.

Osvaldo was sold for 15,1M to Southampton: http://www.asroma.it/pdf/corporate/operazioni_di_mercato/2013_-08_-_18_osvaldo.pdf
Despite the fact that he hasn't performed there, we are willing to pay the same as Southampton did. That can't seem right to you?

Also, even if the market might be inflated, we aren't desperately in need of a striker. For that reason it makes no sense for us to pay an inflated price for Osvaldo.

9 matches and he scored 3 goals.

It's not great, but I highly doubt a club like Southampton should expect more from a striker when the whole team blows.

Umm Quags is capable, Giovinco is not, and id much rather have Quags then osvaldo, he is shit and will cause problems

We have won 2 leagues with Quag and 1 with Giovinco. By no means I'm not saying they're good enough for us, but why now? This would have made more sense had we still been in the CL.

What happens if Tevez or Llorente get injured, we're fucked, I love Vucinic but he doesn't want to be here anymore and Quag and Giovinco are both awful.

I'm not that worried about his temper tbh, but I will say this. Somebody who has a huge ego and is violent is not going to be 'set straight' if they go off on one

The egotistical side of him will react badly to being 'put in his place' and the violent side of him will... well... you know

As long as he's not starting shit with players not named Isla, and he keeps his cool on the pitch. I don't care.

it's the financial aspect that's putting me off. If we were free spending every Summer and said 'Hey, let's drop 15M on Osvaldo, see what happens' then great.

But we need the money, and this is a costly investment.

You're wrong. We have 2 good strikers and that is not enough. We've been lucky without injuries so far, but you need at least 3 good players up front.

9 matches and 3 goals. What price did you expect us to pay? 10mln? What happened in this period for his price to drop 5mln euros?
