Context, Dusan.

We NEEDED Matri at that point because of Quag's injury. We only had Del Piero and Amauri without him, if we're not counting Iaquinta (lol). Add to that the fact we were buying in January from another Serie A team who knew we were desperate and we were fighting for a place in Europe. €18M will start to make a bit more sense now.

€15M for Osvaldo now is not comparable at all. We're in a total different situation than we were back then.
I think paying so fucking much for Matri was retarded either way. But fine, lets ignore it. Milan bought Matri for 12mln. Surely you don't expect him to cost less than that useless player?

If we'd drop the Scudetto now, irrelevant if we buy Osvaldo or not, it would be our own fault. No other way around it, but it would need a VERY BIG FUCK UP for us to lose it now. Let's be real here.

Again, not questioning the player's ability here. Just the need of another bench forward who is not exactly cheap.
We do need another striker if we manage to sell Quag and Vucinic and I belive now it's the last chance to get some value from them.

In that case we would be left with only two and a half strikers.

My only issue with Osvaldo is his character, hopefully he doesn't do any BS here.

He has 3 goals on 9 matches. He did punch that guy in the face, but would that cause his price to drop for half? lol

who else is interested? as far as we are concerned the only price that matters is the one we are willing to pay, we are not desperate and they on the other hand need to move him, hes pretty much done there and his 'price' will only go down from here on out.

you've kinda answered your own question there, the fact he's only played 9 games in half a season shows that he isn't even worth what southampton paid for him, neither is he worth the money Juve are prepared the part for him

All I'm saying is that

- we DO need a striker, unlike some people think here, because having Llorente and Tevez is not enough
- there aren't many (any?) options out there besides Floccari, Gila, Pazzini, Marota (I don't even know if they are available, but they are bad as hell)
- overpaying? Not so much IF we sell Mirko now, or in summer, for a figure around 10mln

Hell, if we find a striker who's better than Osvaldo and sign him for less -- I'm all for that and I'm gonna cheer for Marotta.

It's justifiable in a certain way.

You should stop comparing that Matri to Milan transfer as you're going to end up to the same conclusion every time. It was a shocking transfer for everyone.

With Quag + Vucinic gone, this would make sense then.

There wasn't much interest for Tevez either.

It has nothing to do with a robbery. It's about market having idiotically high prices. Kids who proved nothing came to Serie A for around 5mln euros. Quag is worth 8mln who's 31yo and who offers next to nothing. We can go on, it's all big numbers.

Bonucci
Ranocchia
Criscito
Immobile

the list can go on.

lol i was about to post the same thing, dusko i am done going around in circles with you
Well if you think a player who was paid 15mln after 6 months should cost 8mln (same price as Quag who's useless) then we really have nothing to discuss.

- - - Updated - - -

I'm done discussing, but 3 in 12. :p

EDIT: Transfermarkt says 13.
No idea, espn told me 9.

We don't need this dude. I would rather spend the cash on CAM replacement for pirlo. Or a LB so Asamoah can move back to the middle. Or bring back berardi.

If plan A, B , C - Z fails I would rather get no one versus Osvaldo for 15 million euros. Again, this is 15,000,000 euros. That is 15,000,000,000.00 EUROS.

Pass.

But...I would exchange Bonucci for Osvaldo anyday of the week.

Although i never really rated Vucinic, i see Osvaldo as a downgrade to him.
Esp if we dont make any $ and instead need to use more...
He will add absolutely nothing to this team, neither in the championship run, even more to the CL.
Tevez is a better supporting striker and Osvaldo's goal/game ratio is not any better than his or Llorente's.
I am disgusted that we still are slaves to nationalism...after all we ve been throught thats really pathetic!
