Are we talking Saviola of Barca and AS Monaco fame?

Love to see it happen, considering he's still young (23), and is playing extremely well. I became a fan of his last summer watching him play against Juve in Boston. Yes, he is miles ahead of Fabrizio, but would cost a King's ransom to get him from Monaco. Is he on loan there, or did Monaco buy him outright?
Javier has that pace and incisiveness we lack, thats why I was hoping Miccoli would have been sacrificed for him or maybe even Chevanton last summer. But of course it's not realistic when you consider the capture of Zlatan.

And Owen would be Moggi's worst signing, God forbid that it happens.

I can't see Owen, Morientes, or Saviola for that matter coming to Juve just to be a 4th striker.

Their talents are superior to that of your normal 4th striker, and they wouldn't, or shouldn't have to accept such a role.

Either you get one of two types of players for that position.

1) a young, and I'm talking an 18 or 19 year old player, with the exception of Rooney, who is willing to watch and learn for the most part, and play in some Coppa matches and first round CL matches.

2) A veteran who may be past his prime, but would be willing to take a reduced role for a chance to play on a winning squad.

I'm jealous of the attacking options that Ancelotti has at his disposal with Milan. Shevchenko, Crespo, Inzaghi, and Tomasson form the best arsenal of strikers of any team in Europe. I would love a player like Jan Dahl in the team.

Anyways, I don't think getting a veteran past his prime would be a good move, so certainly a young talent would be best. Andrea Caracciollo maybe? Of course people would hope for Gilardino, but he is out of our reach for the January transfer market.

Somehow I can't envision the future #9 for Italy being all too pleased with a role as a 4th striker, unless Trezeguet gets moved elsewhere, and even then, as long as DP is on the team and Juve continues to be of the belief that he can recapture his past glory, then Gila would at best be a #3. I wouldn't mind seeing a Zola or Chiesa here for one season. I'd feel much more secure with one of those guys as a 4th option than a young player like a Caracciollo.

Anyhow, I'm still of the belief that this team will be fine until Trez comes back in January.

I agree with that. If our defense holds strong like it is now, and with Nedved showing close to his best, we should have no problems in the near future. We could even use just Zlatan up front with Nedved slightly behind him, and Appiah on the left IMO.

As much as I like Gianfranco, there's not much sense in bringing him here now, same with Chiesa. I've also liked Tore Andre Flo as well. Can you imagine him in a Juve shirt? :D

we have more than enough players of this type on the primavera team.onwuachi, sculli and chiumento all could be good enough for this role.

i would swap Ronaldo for Shevchenko, Morientes for Crespo, Owen for Inzaghi, and Raul for Tomasson and then there is Guti, Portillo and possibly even Solari and so Madrid undeniably has the best attack wether or not you like the club

They will not come in january and thats for sure:
Real Madrid: Perez 'Morientes resta e a gennaio niente acquisti'
Il Real Madrid non tornerà sul mercato a gennaio. Almeno questo è quello che afferma il presidente Florentino Perez

This means morientes will stay and in jannuary there will be no transfers

Shevchenko is MUCH better than Ronaldo. But Morientes is better than Crespo I think. Inzaghi is better goalscorer than owen, but he is not young and kinda off-form, so for the time Owen is better And Raul beats Tomasson any day!

So Real yes have better striking force, but Sheva is better than them all! ;-)

he is not a must for juve.

looking at our forwards now i'd say we've had the best forward options in years and must strive to ingratiate zlatan in the team.a fifth would be good, but morientes shouldn't be a candidate for that role.

I hate Owen, I like Morientes.
I'd prefer Morientes for sure, but don't really want any of them at Juve. I'd prefer if Vieri goes to Juve directly. That would be nice.
