Crazy how Ajax can be in this position in such a weak league.
I wouldnt say its necessarily weak given the prominence of psv and feyenoord again in recent seasons. Ajax losing a number of players as well as ten taag in the last couple of years won't have helped, but usually you would trust ajax to recruit or promote from within to cover those losses which haven't delivered. The lyon scenario is perhaps more surprising given that on paper that squad should not be bottom of ligue 1 and given they have the 2nd highest spending power behind psg, despite some financial irregularities by not providing accurate financial statements under the new ownership who already own the likes of botafogo amongst other clubs have really struggled

It's weak after the top 3 or 4 teams. They have no business being behind some of those tiny clubs, even in a bad season there is no excuse for such a start.

Well we all know how quickly things can change in football, but it's rare that huge clubs struggle for regular sporting reasons.

Both teams will probably still finish a lot higher.

It's weak after the top 3 or 4 teams. They have no business being behind some of those tiny clubs, even in a bad season there is no excuse for such a start.

well Ajax just sacked their manager so we will see.
