I would say be there as a friend of her right now, someone she can talk to, and LISTEN to what she has to say, really listen. Dont try to be a "boyfriend" at a time like this, and she'll never forget it.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do this. Sure, you can listen and give her a shoulder to cry on, but dont overdo it, even if you are listening to her, make sure she knows you want something more than a friendship. DO NOT BECOME HER FRIEND!!!

she got sick on the same weekend that that happened. and she is perfect, cute and she loves soccer as much as i do. crazy about milan though
Cool. Tease her about Milan a bit. But keep it light and make sure she knows you're kidding. Than say: "Well, it seems it's true opposites attract". You dont want to seem to needy or too interested, but you do want to let her know what your intentions are.

That does sound bad, too many guys go out to "get a girlfriend", i can only speak for myself but I can pretty much KNOW when someone is like that. Why not try to be her friend? That is the best way in my opinion for something to develop for example a relationship.
Once again, don't listen to Nicole. Once you become a girls friend, in 99% of the cases you can never, NEVER,
NEVER be anything more!!!

i AM interested but the problem with me is that if i become her friend i get stuck as her friend.
about milan, its not like i let that get in the way
Exactly, make sure she knows you're interested in more.

Dont act as if it is the end of the world.
Tell me, if you really like this girl, what would you perfer?
1. She is your girlfriend, you have a great couple of weeks/months, but ultimately it doesnt work out?
or
2. A lifelong friendship that if one day the feeling is mutual then a relationship could develop from that?
1. Every time. Because, even if you break up if you play your cards right you can still be her friend.
Having said all that, now go out and shag her
Seriously, talk to her, listen to her, pretend you care (or maybe you really care), when you thing the timing is right look into her eyes for a few second and give her a big 'ol wet one. Works best if you do it while she's talking.
Afterwards, say you're sorry, and that you know she's going trough a tough time if you want to.
P.S. NOW go and shag her
