I don't know any more... Why Liverpool is selling Sissoko when he was so good this season? Maybe they think that this season was his peak and they just want to take advantage (money) of that?

he had that nasty eye injury last year though
and when your coach goes into all that legal trouble mid year to get mascherano its notexactly confidence boost is it?

Sissoko is very good. Anyone who saw how he manhandled those Barca midifield would be impressed. But more importantly, with Sissoko, its not so much what he is already, but what he can be. The boy has unbelievable agility, and with some more experience under his belt, which include being more timely in his tackle, the sky could be his limit. Rino is arguably the best midfielder in the world with combination of his workrate, heart, and a bit of skill (He can play contrary to common perception). Sissoko has potential to be nearly as effect or perhaps even better.

I agree :agree:
Sissoko could go on to become a really great high motor type of player that a team needs. He can run an entire game and never seems to tire.

Ok, then why Liverpool is going to sell him?

Then why did Milan sell Viera to Arsenal? And why did we sell Henry to Arsenal? And why did Inter give away Seedorf and Pirlo to Milan?

Just because the opposition wants to sell doesnt mean he isnt very good, especially if it involves relatively big club like Liverpool. These teams needs instance success and the matter of fact is Mascherano, Xabi, Gerrard are all more matured player than Sissoko. What matters from our perspective is not just what Sissoko can bring, but what he can offer in the future. Our primary aim should be building a young squad that can make CL this year with a view to fighting big honours in 3 years time. Sissoko fits the bill IMO.

I agree, thats the formation i had in my head..a Sissoko and Ribas partnership with both Nedved and Camo on the wings..And the tough question now lies at the back..which defenders will Juve use in the centre,i'm all with Criscito starting, but he will need a strong and experienced defender to partner him,i once suggested Samuel, cos he will come cheap especially now with Chivu rumoured to be arriving at Inter, which probably will ruin Chivu's career, but thats only my suggestion of the defence partership, but maybe Cannavaro could fill in that spot again..

I just got this,
Ranieri: ‘Sissoko is good, but I need a leader in midfield’
Please, don't tell me Lamps is the "leader" Ranieri is considering..

I would prefer Sissoko anyday, now he could be a leader, not that crappy Lamps..

HAhAHHAHA , I love you Sig my Friend

...and we don't have much choices...
Well we do. From what I have seen, I am impressed by Jean Claude Makoun and Sissoko. They have different characteristics, so how to incorporate them into the system, will matter greatly, but give them a role suited for their style, and I feel both Sissoko and Makoun could contribute greatly to our season. Youngsters are always underrated, especially the ones playing in lower level of competition, because they don't get the media exposure that high profile players do, and there is general tendency of people to overvalue what they know instead of looking for all alternatives. That is why, as I have said numerous times, scouting matters so much. Forget about likes of Nani et al, as they are many great youngsters who havent (1) been given the chance and (2) develop later in their career. That is why likes of Corvino gives great value to their team contrast to Moratti, whoever running Newcastle, Caldron et al.

And what are we going to do with our present defensive midfield players? There are some experienced and big-potential-youngsters.
btw, who is that sweet girl in your avatar?

Looks like a done deal. Austrian media today reports, that Liverpool are in negotiations with Paul Scharner from Wigan. He is quite simular (still worse) to Sissoko, so IMO its another hint that Momo will be a Juventino sooner or later.

Zanetti has vast experience and should be able to hold his ground in Serie A. I am not sure about Paro and Marchiso, but I think one of them would be good for rotational set up. That leaves with two places in the midfield. Anyway, I disagree with the press report that Juve need a leader at midfield. Camoranesi and Nedved are players of great charisma, and presence. What is the point of adding another 30+ in the middle of the park? Camo and Pavel are at stage of career, we shouldnt be surprised if they run a bit less and become slower in the coverage. That is why I think Sissoko is a good buy. He is quick as hell, and extremly aggressive. This should enable Nedved and Camo to play further up the field, because of the speed of Sissoko backing up. Personally, I would pick Lucho Gonzalez than Diego if we play traditional 4-4-2 system, because the Argentine has more workrate than the Brazilian. But playing 4-3-1-2 formation with Diego is also a fascinating prospect. And I wouldnt rule out buying Van der Vaart or Malouda, Makoun and Sissoko and play 4-2-3-1 system.
