Only saw Kapo play about three times in the 2004/2005 season. Thought he was struggling to adapt from La Ligue to Serie A. Though he did show flashes of quality they were all to rare and represented one of Capello's rare errors in the transfer market in the summer of '04.

Let's fervently hope that the €4.5m received from Birmingham City is put straight towards getting that Pavel Nedved replacement.

One of thw worst? maybe, but certanly not the worst, I mean not with players line Esnaider, Baiocco, Paramatti and Olivera on the race :p
Far from the worst, Ahmed just doesnt know what he's talkin about...

Salas is the absolute worst in recent history, he was friggin expensive and did nothing. We gave him a seriously high salary and he didn't want to leave until he recieved everypenny.

The most hated of all players by my books.

Hey that's not exactly fair.. Salas hardly had any time with us before that horrendous injury and before that he was good - single handedly took apart Celtic in that CL match that year playing practically as a right winger!

Then he gets injured and Moggi wants to jettison his ass - you have to at least see both sides dude. We all love Juve but former mangmt in partic were no angels to some players. Eg Baggio..!? Salas could have gone on to repay that fee if he hadn't been injured - I seem to recall he scored against Juve with impunity when he was at Lazio..

However that said, I do hate Salas for refusing that Lisbon move.. Though CR7 in Serie B..? Doubt it, he'd prob be in Black and Blue right now just like Horse-face.

    BLUES CLINCH KAPO DEAL

KapoBlues have today pulled of a coup with the signing of 27-year-old French international Olivier Kapo from Juventus in a deal worth £3 million.

The talented attacking midfielder attracted the interest of several other clubs, including Everton and Fulham, after Juve signalled their willingness to allow the player to leave.

Spanish clubs Real Mallorca and Real Betis have also enquired about Kapo after he spent last season on loan in La Liga with Levante, helping them in their successful fight to avoid relegtaion.

But Blues have moved quickly to acquire the Abidjan-born player's services on a three-year contract, with a two-year option.

KapoKapo was born in the Ivory Coast but moved with his family to Paris as a child and subsequently opted to represent his adpoted nation, helping France qualify for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, scoring twice in the 4-3 victory in Israel.

He went on to make his senior international debut in November 2002 and played in the following year's FIFA Confederations Cup.

Kapo has scored three goals in nine appearances for his country.

On the domestic front, Kapo joined Auxerre on schoolboy terms at the age of 13 and came through the club's highly-respected Academy system to make his first team bow at the age of 18 in March 1999.

KapoThe tall left-footer went on to become a regular in the French top flight and also played in the Champions League, in which he scored a wonder goal against Arsenal in October 2002 that silenced the Highbury crowd.

He poked the ball through Patrick Vieira's legs and then fired a fierce curling shot past David Seaman.

Kapo helped Auxerre lift the French Cup in May 2003 before leaving the club 12 months later for Juventus, having scored 19 goals in 120 French League games.

KapoUnfortunately he didn't get much of a look-in at the Stadio delle Alpi and started just two league games during 2004/05.

The following campaign he went out on loan to French side Monaco where he enjoyed more success scoring five goals in 25 league matches.

Then came the season-long stint at Levante last term which brought another five-goal haul from 30 appearances.

KapoKapo becomes Steve Bruce's fourth summer signing, following the additions of Fabrice Muamba, Stuart Parnaby and Garry O'Connor, as the Blues boss builds his squad in readiness for the club's second assault on the Premier League.

    about 4.5m €

Excellent!!! That's the most we could get out of him IMO.

    Juve's site says 2.3m € payable in 2 years! WTF!!! Birmingham's site said about 4.5m €.

    SECCO!!!!!!!!!!!! :faq1:

    Maybe it's 2.3 mil € per year, 2 installements.
    That's what I thought.

mentre il Birmingham verserà per Kapo 2,3 milioni di Euro alla Juventus (in due rate, nel corso della stagione)

On some Juve boards(in Italian) they saw the same but say they just paid 2.3m. boh!

i think he will do well in the EPL, he is not as bad as ppl here portray him. I had some healthy hopes for him.

I still remember a goal he set up for us against Lazio where he dribbled his way past two defenders and set up Trezi i think
