Cause he's an arrogant wank who wants to make a century ASAP.

P.s that pitch was a disgrace for a world class cricket ground.
there's nothing wrong with the pitch at all...has good bounce and seam movement, why would you say it's a disgrace? Aussies being knocked over for 120 odd wasn't because of a bad pitch, it was quality bowling and some bad shots from the middle order

Coming to Watson,he's actually one of the few current Australian players that i like.I don't think the guy is arrogant.Doesn't sledge, doesn't react when the bowler abuses tries to get under his skin.If he starts taking more wickets,he would become a top class allrounder.Maybe even the best in the world.

:howler: you clearly haven't seen Twatson recently then...is constantly instigating shit and baiting the opposition

But it gives one team an absolute advantage to win before the game even starts. The win was at the discretion at the flip of a coin (until ponting screwed up) and that is just not cricket!

I like what I did there.

Wicket to Pakistan!

    5 down :weee:

They need to get Hussey out.A lead of over 100 by the Australians could be dangerous for Pakistan since their batting lineup is very unpredictable. They could well be bowled out for 100 or thereabouts on a bad day.

The same goes for his brother. What a pity.If they hold on to these catches Australia would be in an even worse position.

I remember Imran Khan stating in the past that Waqar and Wasim are great bowlers, but they are even greater than they are made out to be because they have taken so many wickets with Pakistani fielders.Had they been around better players they would have taken many more.

at the end of the day, if I am have the Aussies leading by 70-odd with 2 wickets to go, then I'll definitely take it...could have been a lot better, but it's all good.

Some teams just don't know how to win. Winning is a habit.
the worst thing is that we have lost most of our Tests from winning positions this year...should have won the series against the Lankans, should have beaten the Kiwis and could have realistically beaten the Aussies in Melbourne as well...the lads have simply lost the winning mentality

Your batting line up is inconsistent. They choke under pressure and that comes down to immaturity more then anything else. They saw a small target and thought they could have the game finished by drinks, that forces you to make some silly mistakes. I see a lot of talent there though.

At times like this, you have you pray for the day Afridi becomes your full time captain in other forms of the game too.I know the batsman should take a lot of blame here, but Yousuf's body language and imagination just wasnt there. His field placing when the day started today.I mean, wtf was that?

I had doubts over Yousuf's ability as a captain to begin with. But this really is pathetic. We have lacked a charismatic leader since Imran Khan and Wasim Akram.Inzaman,Shoaib,Younis..all defensive men. They wont take the bull by the horns. As much as i hate Ponting, you could see the confidenece in him as a captain even when Australia were down and out.

It's a pity that Afridi doesnt play test matches any longer. He really is the man to inject some imagination and agression into this lineup. This defeat, easily one of our most shocking ones in recent times, should tell the PCB that Yousuf or Younis cannot raise this team.If there's any sense in the PCB boardoom, then Afridi's name will already be on the table to lead us at the 2011 worldcup.

    A 200 lead thrown away.Pathetic.Just pathetic.

we haven't beaten them for 15 years now, it's a mental block they all have against Australia...even our all star team performed a massive choke job back in 1999

The team leading to the world cup was great, but the side went into decline after that. The series you talk about wasnt a choke up.We lost the first test,i dont remember the margin exactly but i think Australia had to chase 90 something in the final innings. In the 2nd test we had them by the balls. They were chasing in the 4th innings again, and this time the total was decent. We got 5 wickets down quick, and were in a brilliant position, until Langer if i remember correctly, scored a century..aided by piss poor umpiring where he was given not out on two OBVIOUS caught behinds. Both off Waqar i think.Australia went off to win,and the 3rd test became meaningless.

This team we lost due to our own idiocy.Back then it was poor umpiring. The mental block exists now, yes,as far as the test matches go since we are fully capable of beating Australia in ODI's and T20's,but i don't think any such mental block existed in 1999.We lost that series 3-0,and we might go on to lose this one 3-0 too,but the 2nd test match in both cases had very different forms of defeat.Umpiring howlers in 1999.A choke job this time around.
