It's 4-2-1-1-2 on paper yes, but Trez would be the only one constantly in the same position, in and around the penalty box. Amauri swerves on the sides and in front of the box a lot. Del Piero too and Camo can practically run were he wants in midfield cause he'd have Poulsen and Sissoko as safety guard. If we had a good leftback, he and Zebina could push forward when needed. But it's no use creating own formations, Ranieri will probably stick with 4-4-2.
Yes I understand it won't be constant, but Del Piero doesn't have the legs to play the wings on a 4-3-3, with him out wide.
Out of all our players I think Iaquinta is the only striker, that can manage a 4-3-3 on the wings, as he has enough speed to do it.

And definately even with Zanetti instead of Poulsen Im confident we can still use the 4-3-3, Im just afraid when we are facing teams who clog themselves up. We wont be able to penetrate unless we have enough width.

Remember, last season, we hold the best head to head record of all the big teams Milan, Inter and Roma. But lack the creativity to break down the small teams.

Oh yeah, one more thing.

Inter has just signed Mancini for just a little bit more money than we will dish out for Poulsen, with about the same salary. Isn't that painful?

I would've picked up Mancini all along, regardless of how his attitude is in the dressing room (I think he's not much of a team figure).

Maybe because Mancini is winger and we don't need him(yet)?

Yeah,it would be stupid to buy Poulsen but you can't compare something like this anyway.

It's Nedved's last season and we have Camo on the right.I doubt any of these two would be happy about playing part-time.Same goes for Mancini.

I'm fearing the worsed for next season if we end up buying Poulsen. Like others have said, I prefer C.Zanetti - remember the long pass assists he played to DP - I can't see Poulsen being capable of them.
Poulsen ans Sissoko in CM - Wow we're gonna end up with half our games being 0-0.

Marchionni and Giovinco can manage to play on this position too, for sure. And I think Amauri is also dynamic enough.

    Poulsen's Juve D-day approaches
    Thursday 10 July, 2008

Sources suggest that Juventus have given Sevilla midfielder Christian Poulsen 48 hours to consider a contract offer.

The Old Lady are looking for a new midfielder to replace last summer’s flops Sergio Almiron and Tiago Mendes.

The initial target was Liverpool star Xabi Alonso, but the £15m price tag seems to have ruled out any move.

Danish international Poulsen, who is a more pugnacious proposition, could arrive from Sevilla for around £6m.

According to Italian Press reports, Juve sporting director Alessio Secco made a top-secret trip to Spain yesterday to table a £2.5m four-year contract proposal for Poulsen.

The 28-year-old’s agent Jan Bonnesen is believed to have declared that no less than £3.3m per year would be acceptable, but there are whispers that Poulsen would accept slightly less in order to relocate to Italy.

Poulsen could even join Juve’s squad in Pinzolo next week if an agreement is reached.

Ranieri Juve 'A midfielder will arrive'

    15:45, July 10

Since withdrawal of Pinzolo, Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri ensures that "a midfielder certainly arrive," but not the name of Poulsen, the player closest to fill that role in white. While remaining faithful to 4-4-2, Ranieri reiterated that the team, as was last year, will change character in some games. As for the renewed team, the coach calls "a chameleon solid", a picturesque setting to indicate both the greater power of the team and its flexibility in changing tactical aspect.

Our Donadoni thinks Poulsen is our Ambrosini.

I would love to know who is our Serginho, Cafu, Bonera and Brochi.
And who is our Kaka's brother above all.

So what about that "4-3-3 talk"? Has Ranieri said anything specifically about tactics?
