Yeah, it is, but still we would have lost by a bigger margin if not for his saves.
That's the problem with goalkeepers, they need to save shots they are supposed to save. Ultimately he did cost us the point. He made a few good saves you would expect of a Serie A goalkeeper, and then messed one up. That isn't good goalkeeping, it's a tough gig.

Still, the goal was his MISTAKE... :disagree:
Yeh, maybe he should have done better on stopping that goal. We all knew he would concede and asking Chimenti to keep a clean sheet is just too much.

We should be trying to win games here so its not just Chimenti's fault we lost if our attackers are shooting blanks.

This guy is so stationary and slow it hurts to watch him. He's rubbish. We should be blooding a youth keeper as opposed to wasting time with him. He's only getting older and definitely not improving. Nice guy and all but we can't continue to pay his wages based solely on that.

He offers nothing to this team.

Alright, if Sissoko didn't mess up just 1 of his 20 missed passes, hey, maybe we would have scored! Or if Iaquinta wasn't offside once out of zillion times, maybe he would have scored as well and we would have won the game.

No one is saying Chimenti didn't mess up, but fuck we were so bad, the guy actually pulled some decent saves. All things considered, he wasn't the worse man on the pitch. That's all I'm saying.

There is a big difference between a goalkeeper and an outfield player, most outfield players can get away with mistakes, because there are dozens of incidents in a match. It's completely unrealistic to expect a striker to score with every chance or midfielders to make every pass. But yeah, Sissoko or Iaquinta deserve just as much criticism for their part in the game, as well as others.
A good goalie has to save shots that he should save, whether than is 1 from 1 or 8 from 8. If someone puts a 30 yarder in the top corner then of course there is nothing you can do.

I agree he had a good game, up until that point. You know with Chimenti that if you keep playing him, at some point, he will cost you. He is once every 2 or 3 games, Manninger is maybe 10, Buffon 20+. That's what separates goalies like Buffon from the others, concentration.
