Ciro could come down and help him out a bit. He's not that bad. Him and Mexès owned at Auxerre. He just need the right players and coach around him. I stil think he's better than Legrottaglie, Kuffour, Birindelli(CB)...

Juve going for Boumsong Sunday 20 August, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have reportedly found their new defender in the form of Newcastle United’s Jean-Alain Boumsong.

The club and Coach Didier Deschamps had confirmed over the past few days that they had set their sights on a reinforcement for the back line, but refused to name the player.

It’s rumoured this afternoon that they were referring to 26-year-old Premiership starlet Boumsong and negotiations are at an advanced stage.

The French international is set to join the Turin giants in Serie B for £2.5m, replacing the likes of Fabio Cannavaro and Bleus teammate Lilian Thuram.

Boumsong already has 20 caps to his name and has also played for Auxerre and Glasgow Rangers.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are resisting a new offer from Lyon for unsettled striker David Trezeguet.

The French club now have cash at their disposal following Real Madrid’s £17m swoop for Mahamadou Diarra.

Trezeguet is unsure of his desire to stick with Juventus in Serie B and a large offer would sway Juve’s views on this issue.

He was great in Auxerre though. A less stressful experience with Juventus in Serie B might be good for him.

Remember that many of you also want Legro in the team. An older defender who's had a similar career.

he was great in france with Auxerre..maybe the premiership is too stressful for him..looking from his point of view...he needs a break.. and a good coach to guide him back up again...

He couldnt deal with the pace of the premiership, nor the strength required. Thus his more "technical" style of defending may suit serie b more.
