we won the world cup because we were the best team, sure we had our slice of luck but there were no controversial decisions from referees which had a deciding factor in the games. These Euro's have been ridiculed with bad refereeing not only against Italy, but against a host of nations. It makes me sick that the media target Italy all the time. Your either with us or against us, simple. You are the pathetic one, retard!

Italy was one of the best teams in WC2006 and that makes it ok if fishy calls are made for your gains. Nice line of thought. I will reiterate that asking UEFA to pressure holland to play their first team in their last match is just pathetic & retarded.

But lets put it this way, it was more like 1-1. Penalty was just about time, because the ref knew he fucked up with Matrix red card.

No, this can't be right. We can't use lex talionis in football. The code of Hammurabi can not count in the 21st century football. You're talking about eye for an eye, i kill your brother you kill my son.
There are rules. You don't fix a mistake by making an ever bigger one.

True you don't correct a mistake by making another mistake, but Australia had the advantage for more than 60 minutes to take a lead when Italy were playing 1man down. So Italy were at risk much more than Australia thanks to the ref.

This is why Grosso's penalty was fair.

I totally agree. My point is the Grosso penalty is continually used against Italy whenever we are at the recieving end of a poor decision. Materazzi's red card was call against Italy, yet it hardly gets mentioned. Some of the criticism is deserved, a lot isn't - let's have some balance.

I'm not talking about eye for an eye. Like I said, the ref was aware of the mistake he did, Australia had the chance to finish the game for more than 60min and they didn't. The Ref waited for a small contact inside their box to award a penalty for the Italians which is fair IMO, whether it was a real contact or not. It was fair because Italy played one man down for almost the entire game.

So I Wouldn't really consider it as eye to an eye more than that Australia fucked it up.
