I think the line is a bit mis-placed;). But still, even if Del Piero would have been offside in that moment,he was passive and therefore not "guilty". It was Toni who scored and he was at least 1 metre on-side. Sure, Azzurri haters could argue that the referees don't have cameras and slow motions in that situation but c'mon it's 1metre.
No, the line is fairly accurate, if you look at it closely. Furthermore, look where the linesman is, he is on the same line as Del Piero and the last defender, so he had to see everything clearly.

I Made A Mistake With Toni's Goal - Ref
Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo has admitted he “made a mistake” in disallowing Luca Toni’s goal against Romania despite UEFA claiming he was right to rule the goal offside.

The Italy striker scored a perfectly legitimate goal on the stroke of half-time when the scoreline was still blank, but it was ruled out despite Paul Codrea keeping the Bayern Munich man onside.

Italy felt aggrieved and they were furious with the decision which may end up costing the Azzurri their futures in the tournament.

The ref has now put his hands up and he admits the goal should have stood.

"There is nothing to discuss. I made a mistake on Toni’s goal and I said the same to the UEFA Commission," said the ref.

FIGC President Giancarlo Abete had asked for a public apology from UEFA but so far the football authority has refused.

UEFA have stood by the decision to chalk off the goal and they reportedly explained that the referee was right to disallow it.

This is now looking like a farcical situation as on one hand the referee is saying it was wrong to disallow it and on the other, the governing body on European football is insisting that it was right.

UEFA have plenty of explaining to do as the referee's comments are likely to cause even further controversy.

Why can't Italy just win their matches instead of bitching about what should have been?
Well to win a football match you have to score goals you see. And when the Ref is a douchetard and disallows the goals you rightly score then you don't win. Still following me? Ok heres where it gets weird, sometimes after an important football match when the Ref disallows your goal and you get pissed off. Football is a funny old game huh?

Shit, dont remind me of that.

That Toni goal would've made a big difference but I don't think UEFA's going to change their 'stand', there's no way they'll admit they're wrong, they'll just bend and twist their rules and whatnots to suit them best. That's just how it is, I just hope Italy can get over this, or rather take this as a motivation to screw France up in the arse.

FIGC are a bunch of fags. If relegating Juve, terrible refereeing, and ignoring violence problems didn't convince you that they were fags, then hiring an inexperienced, medicore Donadoni instead of say Capello, Ancelotti, or even Ranieri should speak volumes about their ambitions.

Serisouly. Refs, are not to blame, Milan player's crap form is not to blame, DP is not to blame, Donadoni is not blame. The problem was that FIGC fucked up (suprise suprise!) big time. And this is the outcome of their stupidity.

Guys you must remember Del Piero goal v Liverpool in the CL was disallowed did that fuk Juve over hell yes.
Yes that goal should have stood, but what most people end up ignoring is that Carson didnt even attempt saving Del Piero's header because of the offside call.He might have been able to stop it had it not been called..so we cant say if that would have been a certain goal.

Video replays will totally ruin the flow of the game.Too many pauses etc..it would make the game less attractive.Plus refreeing mistakes are a part of the game.In a weird way,its what makes the game what it is.Football wouldnt be football without the drama and the controversies.
Football is a fast paced game, and all these camerachecks in the game would totally ruin that. The level of refreeing should be improved, yes, but introducing Technology is not the right way to do that.Right now we're only talked about offsides..but in the future people will demand camerachecks for fouls, handballs, dives etc.It would make football slower, and much less attractive.
That's fifa's bullshit that probably brainwashed you.. I am not telling you to check every fuckin whistle on the video, but, they should check the goals only if they are valid or not, and the 4th/5th referee can check that in seconds during the game while it is being played, and could tell the main referee in a second, we are living in twenty fuckin first century, and this bullshit should end! It's not impossible is it? but Fifa and the likes don't like this idea, because you should know by now that FIFA's men are not clean, you can find enough of scandals to realize that.

You need to see Juve's games of this season against Napoli and Reggina, and want to know if you still think the same way. Italy could beat Romania by luck, if that valid goal was given!

hey dude..how can italy win when the referee doesn't want italy to win.
even in holland, i felt that the match was won by the referee. if the first goal was ruled offside, then italy would not need to push up and attack, then conceding on holland's counter-attack. dun try and act smart next time thanks =)
