Anyone who is not Italian has no argument in this thread. If you are not Italian, you can't say shit.
That's the smartest thing said so far in this thread and for the record I'm agaisnt Amauri being called up to the national team. If anybody should be called up it should Cassano who is Italian and cares about the jersey like when he was in tears when Italy got elmianted from Euro 2004.

I don't know how most Italians feel about this, but it really pisses me off when guys who are really English get to play for Scotland.

Amauri isn't a reject FFS. He's better than any forward Italia has now barring TONI.
he's a decent player...but doesnt belong on the Azzurri

People are so happy to have Camoranesi on their side yet blast the prospect of Amauri joining the Azzurri. You can't have it two ways. If you're happy you have Camo playing for Italy, you can't say no to Amauri because that's totally hypocritical.

This stuff is something I see from all sorts of Azzurri fans and it ticks me off.
Camo's grandparents were from Italy...Amauri has no Italian roots

Good for him. Camo has less than half Italian ancestry. Don't be a fucking retard and say that it really matters, because if so, Vinni can play for the Azzurri by your fucking inane logic.
yes...I have Italian roots, which I could prove, so I could play for the Azzurri (if I was ever given the chance) ala Giuseppe Rossi

Insane logic? How is it insane to say only Italians should play on the Italian NT? I'm pretty sure cammo's grandparents emigrated to argeninta from italy. So he does have an Italian background. Where as amuari has absolutely no Italian ancestry period. By your logic I can go to china, stay their for a couple of years, get my chineze passport and play for their NT. That seems insane to me.....
agreed

camoranesi is italian

Although born in Argentina, Camoranesi has Italian ancestry through his grandparents who were Italian and had emigrated to Argentina, hence his last name. This made him eligible to play for either Argentina or Italy

off wikipedia.
actually, his family name was Camorenesi...but was changed in Argentina

I think Amauri has an Italain grandmoms or something like that.

bullshit

Yeah, Andy's so clueless yet he brings up a good point in saying that neither Camoranesi or Amauri were born Italian, but since the former won a World Cup people are pleased with his presence. One could make the argument that we all have the same blood, so "Italian" blood can be German bloodm Brazilian blood, Japanese blood or whatever the hell you want it to be. Like Andy said, I could play for Belarus, Ukraine and the Czech Republic despite being a Russian American by the logic seen in this thread.

Andy is clueless is not an argument.
neither was Perrotta or Gentile...should they have been excluded as well ??

Cassano is a head case...no telling what might happen if he doesnt like a ref's call during the tournament

It means a whole lot more than having fuck all of it. If you want to represent your country, you must be at least part of it by blood.
And do you also have to be tall, blond, physically strong, dolichocephalic and blue eyed ?

And how do you know that Amauri's great great great great grandfather wasn't Italian ? If he was, does it mean that Amauri can play for Italy ?
And one more question, Do You think that Balotelli should play for Italy ? His biological parents were from Ghana and he obviously doesn't have "Italian blood", whatever that means.

What's the point of international football, if you just go calling up players from other countries? Kinda beats the point doesn't it really.

Just because you can't produce players from your own country, doesn't mean you should just resort to calling 'foreigners' up imo.

Amauri should play for Brazil, him being Brazilian and all.

Andy says Gentile was born in Libya to ITALIAN parents and grew up in ITALY. Camoranesi had neither experiences.

That's the difference.

Exactly... AND CAMORANESI SHOULD PLAY FOR ARGENTINA.

No.
How do you know they are?
No, because he is too far down the line. Camo's blood comes from his Italian grandparents, who must have given birth to a child who was Italian.
Don't know about his case enough.

Amauri has already stated that he has no Italian roots...only the citizenship he's about to receive

Balotelli was born in Sicily and adopted by a Sicilian family......so, I guess the debate can begin....

But still, Balotelli has no "Italian blood." By the logic seen in this thread, Balotelli cannot play for Italy, which makes all the people here hypocrites.

ok so from your argument giuseppe rossi shouldnt play for italy?
I don't really care about this issue, but what Andy is trying to do is make people uphold a standard. If Rossi and Balotelli can play for Italy, so can Amauri. It's just absurdly hypocritical to say Amauri is a reject not worthy of a place on the Azzurri when Camoranesi is basically the same case study, minus the dumb argument of "Italian blood." As Alen said, we all have monkey blood.

And tbf "InternalAffairs" I didn't mention Camoranesi yet, just Amauri.

If Balotelli has no "italian blood" at all, then he shouldnt play for Italy. Same as Amauri.

People could say the nation of Italy "adopted" Amauri, so therefore he could be just like Balotelli.
:agree:

btw, Camoranesi said numeruos times how he still feels 100% Argentine.
I mean, his mother's tongue is Spanish.
He feels 100% Argie and he speaks Spanish at home. And people here mention Italian blood.

Amauri is from Brazil. He is white. The white guys in Brazil have European ancestors. So Amauri may be Portuguese, but he may as well have Italian, German or Spanish ancestors.
According to some people here things will be different and Amauri will be acceptable if it's somehow proven that the grandfather of his great grandmother was Italian. I mean, he'll have 3,125% Italian blood, that must mean something.

If Amauri shouldn't play for Italy then the same should go for Camoranesi. It's that simple, actually.
