That's the smartest thing said so far in this thread and for the record I'm agaisnt Amauri being called up to the national team. If anybody should be called up it should Cassano who is Italian and cares about the jersey like when he was in tears when Italy got elmianted from Euro 2004.

People are so happy to have Camoranesi on their side yet blast the prospect of Amauri joining the Azzurri. You can't have it two ways. If you're happy you have Camo playing for Italy, you can't say no to Amauri because that's totally hypocritical.

Where as amuari has absolutely no Italian ancestry period. By your logic I can go to china, stay their for a couple of years, get my chineze passport and play for their NT. I don't really care about this issue, but what Andy is trying to do is make people uphold a standard. If Rossi and Balotelli can play for Italy, so can Amauri. It's just absurdly hypocritical to say Amauri is a reject not worthy of a place on the Azzurri when Camoranesi is basically the same case study, minus the dumb argument of "Italian blood." As Alen said, we all have monkey blood.

I mean, his mother's tongue is Spanish.
He feels 100% Argie and he speaks Spanish at home. And people here mention Italian blood.

Amauri is from Brazil. He is white. The white guys in Brazil have European ancestors. So Amauri may be Portuguese, but he may as well have Italian, German or Spanish ancestors.
According to some people here things will be different and Amauri will be acceptable if it's somehow proven that the grandfather of his great grandmother was Italian. I mean, he'll have 3,125% Italian blood, that must mean something.

If Amauri shouldn't play for Italy then the same should go for Camoranesi. It's that simple, actually.
