I want Juve to buy this guy as Del Piero's heir. What was the goal like?
Slop, really. It was all created by #20 (can't make him out on the small screen) with a nice, looping forward header that probably could have went in on its own. Quag dived in, flailed some limbs, made some contact with the ball rolling around on the turf, and got the credit. :D

EDIT: thanks. 20 is Perrotta still.

Maniche was playing like a headless chicken. Inter doing what it does best; ruin players

This is such bullshit, Portugal was playing so good in the first half and then two lucky goals by Italy and they decide to check out.
They can't finish. Same old story.

But the defense came apart today.

They really need to toss out Big Phil and replace him with Mourinho if we don't jump on the guy. They should have done that before the qualifiers were over.

Btw, I attribute some of that goals-behind-collapse to the fact that Ronaldo is an undeserving captain of the squad.

My grandmother could finish better than them.

If you look at Portugal, they really honestly don't have world Class strikers that can always be a threat..They usually would put Nuno Gomez or Postiga up top..

They are more known for their midfield with Ronaldo(WHICH HE WAS TOTAL CRAP TODAY) Nani, Deco, Simao, Quaresma(He is so much better then Ronaldo) and some younder generation...

They are really never known for their Forwards...

Or, as the Portuguese know him as, "NoNo Goles". (True story.)

Still aren't. And nothing looks to be changing that for up to a generation out.

Once again the pony is put back into his little pen by the Italians. Tell him this ain't Fulham bitch! Oh and we are so lucky to be able to see the grace of Andrea Pirlo on the football pitch.

ronaldo shouldn't be the captain for portugal, the guy is the biggest cry baby in the game. He's not a leader yet.

This was a classic italy performance. Portugal outplayed us in the first half but we came away with the lead. Portugal didn't really do anything with the possession they had in the first half. They had the ball more while we had the better chances. We started to take over at the start of the second half. After pirlo's goal we just sat back and tried to hit them on the counter attack. It was a solid performance, and I'm sure donadoni will take a lot from this game. His confidence is growing, and so is mine with him.
