Materazzi, Barzagli, Panucci, Ambrosini and Di Natale are all crap.

The rest played like crap.
Those are crap, yes. But those are the ones Donadoni wanted, they pulled the entire team down. This time around it's truly not the players, but the coach to blame. Del Piero and/or Cassano need to play, with Chiellini and Gamberini making up the team's central defense.

Just get on the phone with Lippi, Robby..

Lippi wanted Barzagli and Matrix as well for some odd reason. Those players are truly some of the worst players I've ever seen play for Italy.

Italy's "Great defense" era is over I guess, this is probably their worst ever defense in decades. Now that Cannavaro and Nesta are done too, Italy is not going to have a world class defense anymore. Not to forget, They need a new Totti badly, I don't see these are going to happen any soon, Montolivo maybe could do something, I can't understand why he was left out, and what that Ambrosini is doing there is hard to understand.

Today's loss was definitely Donadoni's fault, or his capacity, this fool shouldn't been there from day 1. Playin with 3 defensive midfielders and with one attacker?? you took the charge of World champion, you have one of the best players around, and you play like a pussy, with a system like that?? And what the fuck was he thinking with playing Panucci on the center? or starting with Materazzi? Chiellini is the better of all the players he played in the center today, why was he benched anyway?

This match could end in a worse way, If Buffon didn't make some of those saves. Donadoni should be sacked, this fool is not going to do anything against France anyway..

This is a JUVENTUS forum, not an Azzurri forum.
That’s why Andy can make fun of the Italian footballers as much as he wants.
If he insults any of you personally, if he insults a whole nation, religion or a Juve player he’ll get a 5 days ban and he knows it.
But Andy isn’t doing any of that and if some of you find what he says provocative and feel necessary to reply to him, then better control yourself and think twice what you’ll say to him because you may easily get the same 5 days ban.

I’m aware that no-one did anything of a kind but I have this feeling that someone is close to losing his mind, so I give this warning just as a precaution.

Btw, Andy, i started watching the match more or less as a neutral. But the moment Holland started banging goals i kinda hoped they'll score as much more possible just because i knew you and Jack are making a real show here :D

Italian Referee Chief: Van Nistelrooy Goal Legitimate
The president of the Italian referee association (AIA), Cesare Gussoni, believes that Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s opener was legitimate despite a massive claim for offside.

The Real Madrid striker pounced on a razor sharp cross from Sneijder to tap in from close range.

Replay’s can clearly show the player in an offside position but Italy defender Christian Panucci was deemed by the linesman to have played Van Nistelrooy onside even though the stopper was off the pitch and down on the touchline with what seemed like an injury.

Nevertheless, the goal stood and Gussoni believes it was legitimate despite the whole of Italy going berzerk when it was allowed to stand.

“The linesman applied UEFA’s ruling 100 per cent,” said Gussoni.

“He evaluated Panucci’s position as the player who kept Van Nistelrooy onside.

“I thought it was offside but the replay showed Panucci off the pitch.”

The rules specify on whether or not a player leaves the field voluntarily or involuntarily in an attempt to play the striker offside.

But, in Panucci’s case, it is impossible to tell whether he left the pitch voluntarily or vice-versa.

“The sense of the rule is to avoid players leaving the pitch on purpose in an attempt to gain an advantage from playing the other player offside,” said Gussoni.

“Besides, Italy lost the game by more than one goal regardless of extrinsic factors.”

Italy were woeful on the night but they still have two life lines against Romania and France as they attempt to keep their Euro hopes alive in the group of death.

:D Man, as much I love the Dutch banging in the goals and aggravating Azzurri supporters around the globe who think they have the biggest team in football, I still have some mercy for Italy. Afterall, they were what brought me to European football in 1994.

By the way, I love all these "Go play baseball" and "Haha, you're an American talking about football" nonsense directed at me. It's funny how low people go to ward off criticism. I love being an American REAL football fan. :D

Not that I got offended by anyone here, but these jokes are being posted 24/7, and in many threads, and most of what is written here isn't readable, you see one or two good post worth to read, and you see 10 of the same jokes being told again and again and again, and ten of those stupid replies like " go play baseball".

I mean, ok we got that this is a Juve forum and not Azzurri. But does that mean we are not allowed to discuss Azzurri here? it's just not funny anymore, and I bet many of us here are getting annoyed.

Is Italy still the biggest team there is?
Di Natale isn't crap, he's one of the few players selected that had a decent season. Donadoni should have known better than to play a Roma formation with old AC Milan players.

A simple retort is "Haha, you're an idiot talking about football".

Some observations from today.

Cassano created more chances in 15 minutes then Camo created in 75.

If it was up to me, Materazzi would never suit up for Italy again.

Del Piero was magic, him and Toni had great chemistry.

Why De Rossi wasn't starting for Ambroseni is beyond me.

Zambrotta and Grosso were monsters on the flanks.

Buffon got no help.

Panucci starting? After coming off injury? Donadoni must have been brain washed from his goal against Scotland.

Cannavaro looked like he was wearing a Faroe Island jersey in the 65 minute.

Give Chiellini a shot, and I bet he would have f*cked Van Nistelrooy's sh*t up. We've seen what he can do to Zlatan.
I am sure he could do better than those who played, but I doubt he will become a world class defender like those Cannavaro, Nesta, Maldini, Baresi etc.. I would love to see him get tested against big teams like Netherlands, I am not still convinced of him yet, he is wild and hard worker, just like Gattuso, he might give problems to us and Italy in future, that's how I feel, but still, time will tell.
