From Reuters, just a little under two hours ago:

TOKYO (Reuters) - The Japanese coast guard has spotted two Chinese vessels attempting on Sunday to enter waters near islands in the East China Sea that are disputed by the two countries, Kyodo News reported.

Two Chinese fishing patrol ships were sighted around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday (6:45 p.m. EST on Saturday) repeatedly trying to enter waters 44 kilometers off a group of islands known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, Kyodo reported, citing the Japanese coast guard.

Relations between Asia's two biggest economies soured in September after Japan detained a Chinese skipper whose fishing boat collided with Japanese patrol vessels off the disputed islands, which are near potentially rich maritime gas reserves. He was later released.

that has nothing to do with north korea, if anything china would help out to put n korea out of its misery
I thought it was pertinent considering tensions between the Chinks are on the rise as well, along with us.

I'm not sure, but the Chinese might want to keep the Norks around just to provide a distraction for whatever their agenda is at certain points in time. A good distraction for the US is beneficial to them. They're probably like, "well, these guys are a bunch of fucking whackos, but we'll let em go so as long as they don't bother us." You know, like a good crack whore.

I doubt anything will happen there.

USA likes the current tension there just to have more justifications to keep its military bases in Japan and South Korea.

North Korea is just playing, and knows that the Big Brother, China, is there to make sure no country will dare to attack them.

I don't see why it's favorable for us to have military bases in South Korea, from a financial or military perspective. If this was Afghanistan or Iraq I'd say otherwise, of course. But in South Korea we can't even do much from a logistical perspective.

You can see them as a first defense line against any Chinese threat.

I thought, now I could be completely wrong, that Japan now has little to no military force..Once again I could be completely wrong.

This reminds me of the bald guy from N.Korea national team that was crying before the match while they sung the national anthem. What game was that?
