22 mill for some guy from the Czech league... we cant even fucking sell anyone for that price.

How do Napoli have so much money to spend? I know they are selling Osimhen, but the media would have you believe they have 250m to spend.
Serious question but how do Roma have money to spend on i.e. Wesley and Rios yet they are supposed to be restricted by ffp?

Their transfer strategy has been pretty solid over the last many years ago. Some of their top performers were purchased for paltry sums compared to what other players are going for. Kim, Kvara, McTominay etc.

and yet the one responsible for signing the likes of Kim and Kvara ended up wasting 20 mill on Lloyd Kelly for us...

Gyokeres to Arsenal almost done. It will be around 65 million but I just noticed that Coventry will get 10% and Brighton 15% so Sporting got fucked pretty much
Is that pounds or euros? Anyway seems like about as much as it’s been rumored all summer, but lol at the high sell on % for two other separate teams, smart business by them no doubt, just surprised that the Brighton one isn’t expired yet considering Coventry purchased him all the way back in 2021 and even they had sold him to Sporting ever since 2023.

It's euros. Iirc Sporting were demanding 90mln or so but Gyokeres kept pushing for Arsenal so the price got lowered quite a bit.

Gyokeres is basically their signing to get them over the line. You pay 70m+ for a 27 year old striker you know he's unlikely to have resale value so you need him to win you cups and titles.

BTW I'm not sure about the sell on fees, Coventry at least, the owner seems to be saying that they don't get an amount worth all that much because of deals previously agreed. Maybe a couple of million.

Also he’s unproven at Prem level. We’ve seen previous strikers take the Portuguese league by storm but fail to kick on when they went to England. Weve seen previous shall see.

We took a similar risk on Higuain (who was 28 when we signed him IIRC)…but at least we knew he was proven world class quality at Serie A level.

Hard to believe isnt it? He was supposed to be our saviour, the next Marotta, just like Paratici the understudy was supposed to be. Yet here we are again, lets hope Data man has it.
trust me I'm far less optimistic about Comolli than I ever was about Junktoli, even then my trust in Junktoli was already over early last summer when he pissed about and resorted to panic signings.

Comolli is just sheer trash, I'll always remember him as the guy that bought the likes of Carroll and supposedly signed Stewart Downing based on some fabricated skills video on youtube. Yes people will say but but but he signed Suarez and Modric, but the amount of shit he signed in between is astounding.

I guess the difference to other strikers from Portugal is that Gyökeres already played well in the Championship. The culture and football style shock should be minimal.
