No China is very different, the money used was meant to help its own infrastructure and help bring through Chinese players as they were trying to become a footballing force. Instead club's abused this to sign whoever they wanted at the detriment of its own development. In Saudi they're purposely trying to sell themselves as a league with big stars giving no regards to their own domestic players, on top of wanting to host a world cup too. Hell even the Saudi 2nd div are buying foreigners too albeit not as well known.

What's really sad is that in the next few years kids will start wearing more and more Saudi club shirts. Its already happening in England it's either PSG, Man City or Al Nassr.
