if no one gives a fuck about the global exposure, it's all about bringing enjoyment to the people of Saudi Arabia? aren't there better ways to do something nice for the population than dropping 400m for 2 years of Benzema or 320m for 4 years of Kante?
Where are you going with this? How does this relate to our discussion about football? You sound butthurt.

It'll be funny to see Saudi Arabia never qualify for another world cup because their league is so populated with foreign players.
Since the upcoming world cup will have 9 slots available for Asian teams, it shouldn't be difficult for Saudi Arabia to qualify. Additionally, Saudi clubs are not allowed to have more than 7 foreign players.

I just wonder how much u will like this league when the real motivation of these players will be revealed. Because on paper SMS - Neves - Verratti midfield does look good, but in order for it to work good u also need them to work their asses off. Im pretty sure most of these players will just collect the money and give fuck all about the football in general.
China didnt do it to such a big extent as Saudi is doing it (if i recall they could only sign 3 foreigners) and didnt really offer as big salaries to good but not the best players in the world. This is simply another level and Saudi managed to clean Europe from washed up and not ambitous enough players.
Imo in few months time we will see few Saudis clubs refusing to pay their players as they will see there is no commitment from them, it was already reported with them before, but those were some unknown players. I just wonder how FIFA reacts to this (if they wll bribe them or not).

My butt is fine, thank you for inquiring.

I just think you're wrong about no one caring if the West watches, obviously this is sports washing and the whole point of it is positive global exposure. Personally I think if they distribute and market it right, they got a good chance of getting good viewership numbers. Thats a big if though. :D

I can see your point on the possibility for great worldwide exposure through sports washing, and I agree that if they distribute and market it right, there is a good chance of getting good viewership numbers. However, I still believe that there are many people who don't care if the West watches and that it ultimately comes down to the individual preferences of each viewer. In either case, it will be interesting to see how things turn out and whether the league is able to draw in a larger audience.

That 7 in a starting line up or 7 on the squad list?

What I find concerning is how PIF will farm out players to one of their other clubs including Newcastle just to make avoid FFP and make room for new players
It's possible that they will take advantage of this until new rules are introduced to prevent such practices. However, I doubt FIFA will allow UEFA to take action against it, lol.

There is just no way you couldn't get someone as good for half the price in any of the other four major leagues.

If you have the purchasing power, you should only be buying starters or future starters. That's how great teams are made.
