They are. They literally buy Brazilians to play in the Qatar national side :seven:
Sad but true lol.

Even Kyrgyzstan brings in Ghanians for their NT.

You would think it would be more beneficial for Qatar in the long run if they focused their oil money in their own league rather than European teams.

Really hope Chinas project works out

What? Juve is self-sustaining since like forever and you cannot compare us to the crooks that are PSG. That club is a money laundering business and I do not want Juve to be like this.
And we bought Buffon after we sold Zidane and we buy big only after selling bigger.

Self sustaining lol. Juve have been purchasing major stars for decades with Agnelli's money until the 90s.

Infact the entire Serie A at its peak was one big money laundering business. Stop with this hypocrisy.

No doubt they are making a mockery of uefa and its rules
As they should. FFP is a rubbish rule that exists only to make the rich teams richer.

I'm glad this is happening. Football is better served this way.

You really believe they aren't? They even approached Pep to coach Qatar NT with a massive offer but he rejected their advances some years ago.

Qatar spend tons of money but they also aren't stupid. Who's going to watch the Qatari league even if they splurge billions ? Who's there target audience? China have a population of 1.3 billion and hence can afford to take those risks. What can a tiny country like Qatar do if they're limited to a smaller audience?

If they bring the players in people will watch.

Anyways the best way to do it is improve more academies within their own country while focusing their money on they own league aswell.

Can't say, not familiar with the FFP in detail. Best guess, that 78 mil side pay-off would be exploiting some sort of a loop-hole in the rules.

If this were to go thru, and it seems it will, it will put the international mercato on an entirely different type of a slippery slope.

Just 3-4 or so years ago, the Bale and Pogba transfers seemed like a ludicrous amount of money to pay for a player and the likes of Messi and CR7 were getting paid 11-12 mil a season.
Now, those moneys look like pocket change already with the likes of Belotti and Morata going in the 80-100 mil range, while premier talent like Mbappe, for well over 150 mil.
And that's before this Neymar transfer to PSG, which in and of itself could reset transfer fees and salaries to a whole different level over insanity.
Those one-off crazy transfer deals in themselves don't really change the market that much, what mostly does it is simply the influx of money, be it from sheiks or crazy TV deals.

Barcelona paper Sport: Neymar delaying PSG move so dad picks up £23m loyalty bonus on Monday. Dad's been paid more than Messi since 2013.

How incompetent is the Barca board if this is true? He has a loyalty bonus 31st July?

So can't Qatar just repeat this process 10 more times with the other best players? Giving money to the player so he pays his own release clause is just hilarious.
They could technically sign every top player from Primera this way
