Real Madrid Coach in-elect Rafa Benitez has reportedly made Arturo Vidal his primary transfer target this summer.

The former Liverpool and Valencia boss is expected to be unveiled as Los Blancos’ new trainer next week, and Marca claims he has already compiled a list of players he would like to sign.

The newspaper explains the 55-year-old’s appointment was motivated by his knowledge of international transfer markets, and he has first-hand experience of the Juventus midfielder from his time at Napoli.

Additionally, Madrid are understood to have abandoned their interest in Paul Pogba, paving the way for an assault on the Chilean, whom Benitez is a fan of for his versatility and aggression.

Madrid have also been linked with Marco Verratti in the last few days, but it remains to be seen whether they will try to sign both him and Vidal.

Sami Khedira, meanwhile, continues to edge closer to Juve, having successfully undergone a medical earlier in the week.

I would sell him if an offer of 70mln came. Fuckers have been buying players from Portugal for 30-45 millions so if they want such a player from a team that is in CL final with absolutely no need to sell from a financial point of view they have to dig their pockets.

Serie A should be interesting next year if Klopp and Ancelotti actually come (doubt it). Roma should be doing some changes as well. Don't know what's going on with Inter.

Total joke that Madrid fired Carlos, even funnier that they go out and hire Benitez. What?

Klopp is an upgrade, in my books; that would be a big move for Naples Soccer Club. Great for Italian football, also.

Yup, still cannot see the logic in firing Ancelotti to get Benitez, sometimes I just want to know what goes on in Perez's head.
no body can.. and probably ever will understand this decision. Even the Serie A studio at Be In Sports were waiting for Bentiz to be asked how in the world did he land the job at RM!!!

Josemi, Antonio Nuñez, Jan Kronkamp, Mark Gonzalez, Ryan Babel, Andrea Dossena, Phillip Degen etc....such mastery in the transfer market

Benitez is such a myth, easily one of the most overrated managers of the past 10 years.

Coaches alone cant do miracles if the team is in shambles , especially Milan. Alex,Rami, Bonera, Zaccardo,Muntari, Essein, no way , not even Mourinho can save them.

Garcia has done a good job at Roma, like him or hate him. Roma don't need a change of manager.
 Excellent post, they have the manager they deserve.

His knowledge of the Madrid flamenco restaurants is second to none.

BTW can't see Klopp coming to Napoli with no CL, but maybe he just likes lifting an underdog.
