I think €35m was the release clause, probably worked out better for both clubs to include Salah. Gets him off Chelsea's books and probably playing regularly, finding form (he's generally been shit), Chelsea get the player they want, Fiorentina get roughly the price they want, and they don't have to find a replacement (who is available right now?).

Cuadrado has been quite meh this season but he has the ability to become (or to return to his old form) great winger.

On the other hand, that looks like a quite good deal for Viola. But if I were them I really wouldn't rely on Salah as his direct replacement.
