Ya Doumbia is actually somewhat scary since Italian defenses will have no clue how to deal with his pace at first and he can actually keep up with Gervinho on those counter attacks.
He's not that great in possession from what I've seen but if Roma had a big weakness it was a consistent CF option that could actually keep up with the wingers.

If Doumbia is as described then it's a very good deal for Roma (not knowing numbers). Destro offers nothing to them when they have Totti as they won't play both for sure. This guy will offer what they need and he can play alongside with Totti. And unlike Destro, he will be able to switch sides and be more effective for counters.
