It's a matter of getting world class players in, they know they probably wont get the real targets they want. At least it's a step in the right direction for the Moyes era of signing top quality players when they are available. Arsenal didn't need Ozil there were more important positions to fill and sigign him has shaped their season even if he really isn't as good as people make him out to be. They over-paid for Ozil but everyone at Arsenal was happy to see money spent on a player at Arsenal.

I bet we'd be damn happy too if we splashed 40 some mil on an Ozil or a Mata.
Mata is a player i like very much, sadly we dont have the money to spend 50 million euro on a player. I know Mata can play on the wing but he's a different type of winger than we would be looking for. I would still take him though if we had the chance to sign him.

lokl at MU. Their defense sucks their best CM is old and out of gas Giggs and yet they splash 45m on Mata :Sergio:
This sort of signing pacifies fans, gives them hope for this season or next. They obviously have big problems in defence and CM, but I'm sure Mata will lift them. At least paper over cracks for some time.

The fee again also shows why talk of €40m for the likes of Pogba or Vidal should be dismissed out of hand.

I agree. Selling half of him would be good though. One half to Bologna the other to Parma and :beppe: would have completed his mission :D

I still can't believe Mirko is leaving and not him :(
